AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2268) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 9, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 04/09/2007 4:51:10 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

Iran will announce its nuclear plans today.

Charlotte, NC, broke an 84-year-old record for lowest temperature today. Locally, we only went down as low as 29F, which was five degrees above the record.

Otherwise, an apparently quiet morning newswise.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

If you see Jason sporting an Indian head dress, you’ll know how Al lost his tail feathers. LOL

Dropped into the 40’s again overnight, only supposed to get up to 64 today. That global warming has produced the coldest temperatures down here in over 20 years.

I hope the weather improves before you head North.

The long range forecast says we won’t have any temps in the 60’s this week. Storms predicted for Friday and Saturday this week.

Also wondering what your hubby has heard about the condition of the corn crop South of KC. The grains are going nuts this morning (as I’m sure you know).

My hubby is thinking it will be risky for them to replant due to higher temps earlier in the season. (He’s a CCA, and I have to respect his opinion, altho on this one I’m disagreeing)

My thought is they will roll the dice and replant the corn killed off by frost, due to the profit potential.

you are home for the week?

I've been thinking about that school board/union legislation you mentioned last week...

By Des Moines allowing a "cookie cutter" approach to union negotiations, the state has awarded the unions a bonus: The unions will have extra money to pour into campaigns, etc. with the money they save by not having to negotiate separately with the local school boards. I'm sure there are other consequences, but that's the one which hit me.

It sure strengthens the power of the teachers' unions.

I guess Mrs edwards thinks they’re hi-class and he’s a peasant. I like the fellow too, he sounds down to earth.

This is the pending bill to make Union Membership mandatory for all public sector employees. Altho I think you might have misunderstood, or more likely, I didn’t describe the consequences of the bill accurately.

Currently, each school district (in the case of education), County (in the case of County workers), City (in the case of City employees) and the State (all salaried State employess) Negotiates with the Union on behalf of ALL salaried employees whether or not that employee is a Union member.

Iowa is a RIGHT to WORK state, which means Union membership is not a requirement for employment.

Only 30% of public employees currently pay Union dues. It is predicted to be an $80 M windfall for the Unions. Just think of the additional resources they will have to plow back into political campaigns!!!

The pending bill will require Union Membership in order to be a Public Employee (City, County, State, Educators in Public Schools).

I guess I’m a pack-rat too. I store everything away, even non-essential stuff. I’ll eventually go through the mess and throw away junkmail, spam, etc., but before then, it’s essential to...nothing. But I keep it, just in case... ;^)

Here is Mr. Prairie's reply. Please attach all appropriate and associated disclaimers :^)

Much of the corn will come back on it's own. How much replanting/planting of corn is very dependent on next two weeks weather for field work. Achieving the 90.5 million acre planting intentions for corn is very doubtful. Lots of potential damage for wheat that may be torn up and go to corn.

whew

back & forth (rest time). Busy weekend & essentially gone the 3 days & the PMs were fun to finally be on line again & catch up on my various forums

Glad you & Jack had a wonderful trip.

you going to be in DC memorial weekend? I have the service for my Aunt in Dunkirk on Sat of that weekend so not sure I will go there afterward depending if the big rally is Sat or Monday.

I would like to go to church in DC - either St. Johns or the New Life Christian Church in Fairfax..”mother” church of where I now go. Our minister Dan actually began that Christian/Church of Christ “very contemporary” congregation. He is quite young ... maybe 30 - 35 ?.. but extremely gifted in the pulpit & a music person (that the kids like, so a lot of adults DONT)

Once that congregation got on its feet they checked out the NE for an area to plant the next work & NE Ohio was chosen & I am very glad for that.

Fairfax, Va church:

where I go: Momentum, Valley View OH

It is snowing here (again)

From Mr pb's response, it appears he's assuming the growth point is still below ground. (I DON'T KNOW if that's an accurate assumption or not)<

Lots of potential damage for wheat that may be torn up and go to corn.

So apparently the pesticides used for wheat are compatible with corn. I wouldn't have guessed that to be true. It's Mr pb's business to know this stuff, so I'm not questioning his assumption. It's just that even after 40 years farming, I still have much to learn about pesticide compatibility.

I need to hit the road. I'm already an hour late, and I need to stop and fuel enroute. I will check in as time allows the rest of the week.
