She is a tissue freak.

My lab would eat them. She snitches and chow’s down every opportunity.

Coyotes are everywhere. Most at least keep out of the cities, or one would think. I saw one last week in a residental area by me. Huge and healthy. I called my friends that live two streets over from the siting to make sure that their small puppies were in the house.

I was surprised by the size. For a second, I thought my Shyla was loose - which NEVER happens!

We have a pack that is so bold that it kills deer in our yard. Unfortunataly the Gment doesnt let enough does be killed in our area and their predators are taking over.

My FIRST dog was nicknamed Roo by her first obedience trainer, because she leaps straight up in the air like she's got a pogo stick.

When I met my obedience trainer by chance at an agility trial, she couldn't believe my SECOND dog was named Roo. (She imitates big dog, but she's not as good at the pogo stick routine. Maybe she'll get better as she figures out where her elbows and hocks are . . . ) But she's named Roo just for short for her real name.

There are coyotes in the Bronx, although none have been spotted in Manhattan, yet.

We will hear about it in oh say two weeks?

They are everywhere, just sly and shy.

They trapped one in Central Park a couple weeks ago.

Wouldn't surprise me.

I saw white tailed deer, foxes, and a wild turkey when I lived in the Bronx, to say nothing of one of the largest populations of melanistic (black) squirrels and chipmunks in an urban area. Never got to see the coyotes. Since the Bronx is 20% parkland, its not surprising. Nor is it surprising that they made it down to Central Park.

Now being down in Central Jersey, I see lots of pheasants, hawks, deer, turkeys, beavers, and muskrats. Saw my first coyote (in the state) while walking on the D&R canal trail in Trenton. Ran as soon as he/she saw me.

Now that we have bears showing up in Newark, I'm just pining for the day when I hear on 1010 WINS that a "bear" has been caught near the west side piers, one NOT wearing a leather chest harness and a moustache...

LOL at your tagline!

I can remember wondering who Mark Goodson and Bill Todman were when I was a kid.

There's a large black squirrel population down at Princeton.

I used to walk along the D&R canal down there - it runs just behind Lake Carnegie. Very pretty, and I can imagine seeing just about any wildlife there was to be had along there.

But coyotes, as far as I'm concerned, are just vermin. A Lab breeder I know had a whole litter infected with parvo from a coyote coming through the dog yard and peeing on stuff.

It would have to be one of those covert cameras.

The act of observing disturbs the observed . . .

Rush mentioned the coyote in Quizno today. It might look cute, but a coyote is as a coyote does. Coyotes can be very dangerous.
