As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
The Senate voted last night, 50-48, to set "surrender" as the avowed policy of the United States.
Much as it would be nice to blame this on the Communist Party (aka the Democratic Party), they were not to blame on this. The deciding vote was Sen. Chuck Hagel from Nebraska. His was vote number 50 for "aye".
What, exactly, did Sen. Hagel foist upon the unsuspecting patriots in this country--those who would want to ensure that our homeland is free from threats abroad, regardless of the form they might take? Among the provisions in the legislation, there is a requirement that troops begin coming home in four-month's time, with a target of full withdrawal by March 2008.
What is truly frustrating is that Sen. Hagel, the Communist Party, and a large number of Americans simply don't get it. Iraq IS the Global War on Terror. President Bush spelled it out in his address in September 2001, and again in his State of the Union show in January 2002--this war will not be like any other we had ever seen. He also indicated it would have silent phases, and live phases; there are two of the latter--Afghanistan, and Iraq.
But it is not possible to blame the President solely for the lack of knowledge on this permeating through American society, the leftist, Communistic, defeatist, don't stand for anything, nothing is worth dying for, media. They would never run the stories of success that is occurring in Iraq; stories that, unless you subscribe to the Military Channel--thank you Discovery, for at least getting this out!--you would think we are mired in a Viet Nam situation (apologies to my Vietnamese friends--while we failed to understand yours was a war of independence, it was our abandonment that ensured such a war ended with a Communist dictatorship). No, the President was stuck with body counts, stories of American atrocities (war is messy, folks, stuff happens--but suffice it to say that for every American atrocity covered by the New York Times there were 1,000 enemy atrocities of far more severity totally unmentioned), seemingly clueless American military leadership--for days on end. Continual bombardment, both in actual warfare and propaganda, slowly begins to take its toll.
This was the strategy of Nguyen Giap--the principal architect of the Vietnamese victory in the 1970s (though he didn't live to see the North's eventual triumph)--in the Second Indochinese War. The strategy was simple, and elegent. It realized the North was doomed militarily, but that the United States would not, once the war was brought to living rooms, maintain a stomach for the conflict. He was right, and despite an overall kill ratio of over 20 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong to Americans, we lost.
Our current foe has studied history well--they are executing EXACTLY the same strategy. This is not conjecture. This is established fact based upon the writings of terrorists immediately after the election. The terrorists called upon the Democrats in the United States Congress to keep their campaign promises to leave Iraq in disgrace, in surrender, in humiliation.
Sadly, with the vote of a Republican, a vote to keep the campaign promise has carried the day.
One Republican--all that stood between support for our troops and a devestation of their morale.
One Republican--all that stood between support for democracy in Iraq, and a dooming of the country to terrorists and Islamic "justice".
One Republican--all that stood between the hard work to achieve victory and the easy course of surrender.
One Republican--all that stands between fighting the terrorists over there, and fighting them over here.
Yes, over here. The war is not just in Iraq. This is the GLOBAL War on Terror, the Third World War. Our enemy is fighting with the strategies and tactics of Giap, but on a global scale. Those who think Giap was stupid in his approach do so at their own peril--his country won after all. We cannot afford for the terrorists to win, to achieve their vision of a world caliphate dominated from the Middle East.
No, the war will not stay "over there". The long-term nexus of the battle is Israel, and it still exists. Iran has made it clear that the destruction of Israel is the ultimate goal, and Al Qa'eda has iterated the same desired outcome. Iran has profusely funded terrorist organizations--Hezbollah, Hamas, and while there are no news reports confirming this, it would not be surprising if money was not making its way into Al Qa'eda. Certainly Iranian arms are being found in Iraq, and Iran--the birthplace of modern terrorism--is certainly attempting to strong arm Britain using the same tactics of the 444 Days.
These tactics gave birth to a malevolent state--one that desires the crushing of personal freedoms, and the enslavement of women. One that seeks at all costs the destruction of Israel--and they realize that Israel's benefactor is the United States. Our departure from Iraq would leave Israel still there, still receiving American support. This would require the war be brought to the enemy, from Iran's terms. From Al Qa'eda's terms--if there is a distinction.
Senator Hagel's vote of yesterday, if pulled through to its unfortunate and logical conclusion, will bring the war back to the United States.
President Bush once remarked that Nations had a choice--they could either side with the United States, or they could side with the terrorists. This could also be asked of individuals.
Senator Hagel--ask yourself that question. This space looks forward to hearing your answer.
After yesterday, the sands of time are running through the hourglass with respect to this Nation. May God have mercy on us.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Not ME. I'm staying to fight until I draw my final breath.
I don't give up easily and I don't own a surrender flag.
I like a good fight but I like to know that Republicans are fighting alongside me. Our side has all too often given up.

The talk show I was listening to was hinting at the means available to us in the Constitution if our government is out of control.
He didn't come out an say it - but I think he meant armed takeover.
Not saying I'm giving up or surrendering. That is what the CRAT party, the party of DEFEAT does. I will always stay involved in politics to some extent. Just not sure what level I will be involved in. There comes a point, such as what happened in the House last Friday and yesterday in the Senate, where I have to evaluate what is it worth in detriment to my health because of the inexplicable frustration I have with it. I can't do much good for the Conservative cause if I'm dead from an exploded heart.
Hi, Two Thirds. Some days I feel like I live in an alternate universe.
My brother for instance. Brilliant. Off the charts IQ. He's turned liberal. And he used to be more conservative than me! It's driving his Baptist, sweet wife nuts. He listens to NPR, for goodness sake. It's like a pod person has taken over his body and I want my brother back.
Perhaps Senator Webb thinks so too, which would explain why he feels the need to carry.
He probably thinks they'll be coming after HIM.
We can put their paranoia to good use if we put our minds to it.
The dollars are huge and the impact is even worse. I don't remember the last time I was so angry.
If I were a military guy over there, the temptation would be to put down the ammunition, come home and stand outside Congress with a sign that says the next time we're attacked, don't call me. You pick up guns and defend your families yourself.
If the MSM said - night after night - that the US is wonderful and we're doing the world a favor - ridding evil from those infected places.....
But....Alas, they don't
Wasn't Red's closing 'GoD Bless'?
BUT I bet you are like I am, I WILL be the last person standing, always taking the fight to them, they might 'whup' me but their hands will be full.
Sorry to hear that about your brother, Peach. Unfortunately, intelligence has little or nothing to do with politics and religion. I don't really know what determine's a person's political convictions. It seems to have possibly something to do with insanity sometimes (e.g. sean penn). Other times it seems to have something to do with believing lies carte blanch without investigating the facts (lots of people I know personally). It is truly a deep mystery.
Headed out for dinner with friends, then a lecture which I'll report on tomorrow. The basic topic is relevant to the times we're living in...
I just got up. Thanks for taking those notes. That was really appropro because JT called last night. I told him the exact same thing as what Prager said. He already knew it. The troops apparently are as up-to-date with current events as they want to be. What they think of the RATS in congress is not printable. (Just an aside, why would you want to make someone with big guns mad?) But they are determined to keep doing their duty irregardless of the traitors in Washington. We now have a duty to our troops. To get those RATS out!
JT sounded great. When he called he spoke in the national language to try to fool me. HA! I immediately asked him if he had shot anybody yet. For all you lurking RATS, JT's job is look for people to shoot. He is in a hot spot and he is the unit's gunner. THERE HAS BEEN NO ONE AT ALL TO SHOOT! NO ONE COMES CLOSE. HE HASN'T FIRED HIS WEAPON AT A BAD GUY EVEN ONCE! (and for Lepton, he hasn't fired on any good guys either!)
We then talked of things of personal interest; the changes here wrought by the flood, the youngest's b'ball game last night, etc. I miss all my family.
Never give up the fight. Maybe just take it to a different place where things aren't so hostile.
D just gave Jason a bath, he slipped out the back door and wearing his 'birthday suit' he runs and jumps on a pile of dirt, I have been sitting here laughing like mad.
This is great...
Teeing up 101 for Raven...;-))
