My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Oh kind and passionate one
to forgive me for the things I've done
in the fact that you will have your wish
for no more will I speak of the talking/singing fish.
To listen to the Platters is a great joy
it has been since I was a little boy
and if they were taken away
it would be a sad, sad day.
(HUGE GRINS)

April Is Poetry Month
Mathilde Blind, April Rain,
The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers,
The cuckoo through the April rain,
Calls once again.

Mercy from the Court of Plebes
you ask and are forgiven.
Not bad for a plea of mercy
thou dost ply the feather well
as the joys of younger times
recall hearing The Platters croon
their poetry of tune.
Grownups were in charge back then
Politically Correct Universities
where not yet doing deconstruction
that happened with the doping sixties crowd
let it all hang out and happen.

Always careful with the words
Kathy of Alaska is not a nerd
Spring has not sprung in her
great land, but the eagle soars
over Potter's Marsh, the marsh birds
are building nests to carry on the species
Wondrous land of glaciers, mighty mountains
and jovial folk.

Ah yes, the "Toke up, tune out and drop out" crowd. Great poetry. I am glad that I am forgiven. You make me feel like dancing, dance the night away. But it is a little early yet.

But of course. 8^). As an added note to your post 410, The students of that time that had become teachers and have perpetuated the same mentality by have passing it on to their students. I find that many of todays graduates can not do the things that we did without help of calculators and such. Their vocabulary is atrocious.

I saw him perform it live in the late 50's early 60's while I was stationed in Pensacola, Florida. He was quite a showman.

I saw Tony Orlando when I was in DC a couple of years ago. Great talent both of them.
