March 22, 2007, Thursday, CORRIGIBLE
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Tomorrow Im bringing in chains, so beware.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.
Pronunciation: 'kor-i-ji-bal, 'kär-
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French, from Medieval Latin corrigibilis, from Latin corrigere
1: capable of being set right : REPARABLE (a corrigible defect)
- cor·ri·gi·bil·i·ty
The woman who claims she is the hybrid offspring (right) along with her mother (apparently of "Earth Girls are Easy" fame):Why can't our real space alien women look more like Natasha Henstridge from "Species"
Omnec Onec alleges that she is a female extraterrestrial who originally came to Earth in 1955, and was substituted for a seven-year-old girl who had just been killed in a bus wreck accident. She was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, by the grandmother of the girl whom she had replaced.
maybe bc space aliens just are NOT HOT LOOKING!
the background music was great!
And I like that smooth delivery.........(sigh)-- I may have found a candidate I can swoon over......did you see his comments on NO AMNESTY ?? -gotta love that!

that's great!
-they plan to drop all charges against the Duke LAX players.......took long enough.
have they said or is it still just speculation? in any event, it's long overdue and those boys can NEVER recoup the past year of their life.
-strictly spec....and LONG overdue.
it is just heartbreaking that eliz edwards cancer is now stage iv with bone involvement and her with small children. God bless them all.
What's heartbreaking is that you said "bone involvement" but it's too serious to joke about it.
my sisterinlaw, unfortunately, died of breast cancer, so i know the lingo better than i wish.
Damn.............on both accounts.
bone cancer - at most five years after diagnosis.....my friend due to adult stem cell procedures has lasted longer....she was in Washington recently to promote adult stem cell research.
people on the thread are very critical of edwards not dropping his campaign but i can't criticize him for it. it may be a way psychologically of them vowing to fight this and everything will be ok, dropping the presidency might be too much of an admission of reality with respect to her prognosis. 20% chance of living 5 more years, with Stage IV cancer. xshub's sister died less than a year after it had metastized to her bones. elizabeth edward's chances are not good, and maybe they are not ready to admit that just yet.
my SIL underwent two bone marrow transplants from when she was first diagnosed, and prolonged her life from the original diagnosis, but her cancer was extremely aggressive. it seems elizabeth edwards may be as well. like i said, i don't fault them on the campaign decision. i don't think we can put ourselves in their shoes and criticize that.
I can't really criticize either way. If he wants to be president, especially with the primaries all compressed now, he has to earn money every day. Maybe he's hoping she will pull through enough to see his dream happen, and if he stops campaigning he won't have the money for it.
I totally agree with you.
