March 22, 2007, Thursday, CORRIGIBLE

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Tomorrow I’m bringing in chains, so beware.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

CORRIGIBLE

Pronunciation: 'kor-i-ji-bal, 'kär-
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French, from Medieval Latin corrigibilis, from Latin corrigere

1: capable of being set right : REPARABLE (a corrigible defect)
- cor·ri·gi·bil·i·ty

Good Morning Class. Welcome to School! Yes, we’re all here. No lumpen today.

RULES: You must use the WFTD in a sentence for an A. For a + after your “A,” you must bring in a link of the word usage or something funny, a poem or some prose that will elucidate the word for us.

If you need to know how to link, come to the Subbie’s desk in the front of the class.

I'm up late tonight. I want the students to be corrigible when I get up. Behave!

Good morning! I'm up late too. Doing some freelance. The thought of a paycheck -- and the rent -- keeps me corrigible.

Morning. It's a mistake to believe that Ted Kennedy is corrigible just because he looks like a weeble.

Good Morning!

The cowardly minions of the left seem determined enough to grasp at any straw man of defeat, but one would hope they could take heart about the successes of our military and its surge.

Alas, they do not seem to be corrigible(sp).

With this kind of media savvy on the part of our enemies, in combination with the antiUS fervor of our own MSM, making the world corrigible is quite a herculean task.

I under stand you were up late, Slip but you're also over 1 year behind. Today is Thursday March 22, 2007. Or did I fall through a time warp again?

While the prospect of leaving the house around 3:30am is not appealing, I'm planning to go watch the next rocket launch from the new nearby spaceport set for next month.

Official discusses next launch at Wallops NASA

What's really neat about it is the built in corrigible systems, which will blow it up if need be........

Campbell said that if it is necessary to destroy the rocket because it was veering away from its charted course and entering areas thought to be unsafe, each stage of the Minotaur 1 has explosive charges that, if detonated, would break up the rocket so that its fuel could no longer burn.
