Correction, its been a joke since day one. I live about 15' away and have never felt the need in the last 21 years its been in existence to walk through the doors at $20 a pop, in large part as a protest over who is not there. There is also a lot of resentment in the area, among a wide range of people, that the induction ceremonies are held in NYC and not in Cleveland, although we can watch them live at the hall if we want to PAY for the "privilege". No thanks, I'll pass.

I can definitely understand the resentment the people of Cleveland have towards the elitist Hall Of Fame board members not wanting to have the induction ceremonies held in the Hall itself.
Where's the Cleveland City Council stand on this? Don't they know revenue when they see it?

....the induction ceremonies are held in NYC and not in ClevelandI never got that either, and at the Waldorf Astoria of all places! The Waldorf is nice, but it's definitely not Rock n Roll. The only positive thing I have to say about the hall is that their website is pretty good and, you can see clips of past jams. The Led Zeppelin clips with Joe Perry and Neil Young are pretty good but I can do without the acceptance speeches.
