NORTH PLATTE, Neb. --Two stray cats attacked three people after they got into a house in North Platte. "I thought I had seen it all, but I have never seen anything like this," Chief of Police Martin Gutschenritter said Tuesday. A call for help Monday took animal control officer John Pettit to the home of Melissa Breva, Gutschenritter said. Breva told Pettit she had captured two cats in a bedroom

Well they haven't had a top ten hit in over 20 years. You should expect them to be a little surly!

A decent pellet gun is all you need. Walmart sells them cheap. I have some, but then again, I have much more than pellet guns.
No need to call in some city worker into your home.

Very true. I was referring specifically to the trio who performed under the name "The Stray Cats."
Their were a lot of talented groups during the 90s when the Big Band era was temporarily reborn. Unfortunately their were many who weren't very good who seemed to get the airplay.

What is with these cats gone wild? Every day some cat is attacking someone. Are the cats under the influence of a gang of feral cats or something?

Sounds like these were feral cats that wandered in through an open door looking for food and warmth, and then suddenly found themselves cornered when the first human turned up. Maybe they were rabid, but I suspect the first woman who got attacked, and claimed it was unprovoked was glossing over reality. If you walk into a room and inadvertently corner a feral cat (that may never have been inside a house before), as far as the cat is concerned, you're a dangerous predator and the full blown fight-for-your-life instinct kicks in. This is how I would expect a feral cat to react if it had wandered into a narrow fenced area outside and then a big dog (or fox, or other predator-sized animal) walked in through the only escape route; and it would be a smart move on the cat's part.

I have often thought that if cats were as big as the common dog, they would EAT us.

True but they need to send those cats to be checked for rabies. I worked for a animal shelter and cat bites IMO are nastier then dog bites. I guess if you had to you could kill them & ask the animal control officer to come get them if they had bitten anyone. But he/she might give you a ticket for killing them.
