My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Your graphics are so great! Do you just churn these out at the drop of a hat, or do you have a huge and inexhaustible library?

Well I know Taiwan like the back of my hand. There are always hundreds of jobs,
like this one, that I found in about one second. (you have to scroll down to see the job, I know where all the job sites are).
$60,000 Taiwan dollars per month is about $2000 US per month. One huge difference, an apartment in Taiwan can be as low as $70 or $80 per month! Crazy, isn't it? This little month to month leaser I'm in now (I got month to month so I could conveniently bail if I wanted to, hee hee) is $580 per month.
See how much you can save if your rent is just $80 a month? And you don't need a car, buses and trains literally go everywhere.
Car payment and car insurance in US, $300-$400, rent in US, $550-$700, total monthly cost $850-$1100
Car costs and rent in Taiwan, $70, total monthly cost $70.
I guess I just lost my understanding of the US job market, and while I have all these accomplishments and skills, they are misaligned so that they don't exactly fit anything, but are impressive as separate pieces.
Hmm, looks like Taiwan is in my future again! :-)

Your rent here is not so bad though.
I know you will do what is most comfortable for you. I did visit the site. Lots of jobs listed.
You seem to really be at home in Tiawan and know it well.

Well, we'll see. I was also quite a bit frustrated talking to some of the different "recruiters" I have interfaced with this week. These days they're a bit younger than I am, and they make verbal and logical mistakes when talking, then they jump ahead, then jump back, then get frustrated because they're young and want to sound professional but they're messing it up.
Just today I talked with one "technical" recruiter who was kind of swept away by my delivery, I guess. She suddenly asked if I would consider being a technical recruiter! I was surprised, but I thought, you know that might be a good way to leverage my tech knowledge. But then she started back pedaling, then seemed to be looking for reasons to take the suggestion back. Why? Beats me, I was calling about a programming position in the first place, why totally change the subject and invite me to be a recruiter, then get nervous about it?
And the more manual labor type place did basically the same thing. Things were going well and I was starting to get excited, then she made a pretty major mistake, then got defensive.
Of course I know someone reading this could think "well what did you do, starbase, to ruin the interview?" Nothing! I've done dozens of interviews and was almost always offered the job. But I guess I'm disqualified for my true profession because of my 3 year absence, and I'm over qualified for most basic things I've been looking at, and it shows in the young people I'm dealing with. I just wish they wouldn't clumsily, basically offer the job, then claw and grab it back because they offered it too soon.
Well, more food for thought. I didn't think it would be quit like this, but somewhere in my head I'm not entirely surprised either.

This is really excellent music. Whimsical and floating. Very relaxing. Takes the intensity out of the air.

I know and am horrified over it. Just so traumatic for me.

Ah yes, I got both of those. I have a folder called "Lair Music" and I often download any song you put up, then I might forget it's in there! At the end of the week I find lots of interesting tid bits.

Well, my other post made me sound like a real a******. It's just frustrating to deal with these immature people. I like this Western region, but it's true they're not the same as back East. They're real laid back, but they have issues with immaturity too, and get excited at times we should be just doing business. So this week when I moved my standards lower and lower just to start doing some kind of work, I found the places I was talking with kept making excuses for why that wasn't right, and that wasn't right, but then keep trying to get me to call them back again.
I know it's just because they want to say "no" to someone who's older and more experienced, I can see their bodily excitement when they're "making the decision", and it's so pitiful because it's just for some stupid little temp job.
That's what I meant about being born "court composer", it was tongue in cheek because they act like these little temp jobs are so lofty and hard to get, when I've already worked for companies like Intel and Microsoft! Yes it's true. So I'm doubting if I can compete with the immaturity that's out there. It seems to be more thrilling to have power over someone who has been much higher than they have, than it does to just do the simple temp job deal!
Ah, it makes me angry.

Nothing you can do about them starbase. All you want is a job. It's nerve racking I am sure. Been a long time since I looked for work.
Tomorrow things will look a little different.
Don't worry, I am not making any opinions about you. I accept you as your are. That's the way I wish for people to treat me.
