Someday I'll write a book: "The Wonderful World Of Grandma"

My granddaughter, Jamie Lynn is 12 now.

When she was three, she put me in "time out". I wanted to build with legos. She wanted to play doll house.

Suddenly, she said: "That's it. You're going to time out". She swooped the blankets off a bench. "Sit there. 5 minutes"

Then she sat by my side. We sat silently. Then I asked: "Is my time up"? "No!"......I asked again..."No!"

Then I saw her problem and covered my face so she wouldn't see me laughing. SHE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO TELL TIME!!!

Finally, after asking her several more times, she said: "Go, just go. I don't care what you do".

Her younger brother (9)seems to love the story even more than she does. I think in his mind, he thinks "Man, my sister was a little jerk but she had balls to go up against Grandma".

Oh! that story is priceless! lol Don't ever let her forget it ;) She'll tell her grandchildren too!

I remind my youngest son, who's now 22, that when he was her age now, about 12, he came home from school and commented about the girls all trying to be 'Britney' (and had learned the new word "ho" ackkk).... but he said "Mom, when I grow up, I want to marry someone plain and boring, just like you." LOL

My daughter was 18 months old and every time my mother would come over to visit, she would push her down on the couch and take her shoes off. We thought 'ya little freak!' and laughed until we realized that when Mamaw took off her shoes, she was staying for a long visit. So in my baby's way, she was demanding she stay for a while. It was sweet.

That story is soooo cute! I laughed today at work after reading it and laughed again tonight. Thanks for retelling it.
