Actually, the committment ceremony might hold up if her residence is ruled as California. Howard said his IS California. We always think of committment ceremonies as homosexual unions and the objection IS that they are homosexuals.

It's more than likely that they were in International waters when the vows were taken. It's only a 3 mile limit off the Bahamas. I'd say Howard's script was guided by California AND International Law.

How in the Sam Hill can he apply for residency? Don't you actually have to OWN a residence? He doesn't does he?

That has nothing to do with it when it comes to the Bahamas. By their laws they were not legally married in the US or in the Bahamas. Also they have to register their marriage in the Bahamas even if they married outside of the Bahamas. That was never done.

The only permit he could possibly apply for is a annual resident permit in the Bahamas.

Persons wishing to reside in The Bahamas on an annual basis may qualify under one of four categories:

1. Spouse or dependent of a citizen of The Bahamas
2. Spouse or dependent of a permit holder.
3. Independent economic resident.
4. Resident homeowner, or seasonal resident owner.

The following documentation is required for:

Category 1

a) Immigration Form 1, Section B, completed and notarized with $4.00 in Bahamian postage stamps affixed thereon.
b) A covering letter from the supporting applicant stating relationship and accepting financial responsibility for the subject of the application.
c) Birth, marriage and/or any certificate evidencing dependence of the subject of the application.
d) The applicant's birth certificate.
e) Medical certificate dated not more than 30 days prior to submission.
f) Police certificate issued less than six months from date of submission.
g) Two passport size photographs.
h) A processing fee of $25.00

For an annual residence permit, a head of household pays $1,000 and each dependent $25.00. However, if an applicant is married to a Bahamian citizen, a resident spouse permit may be issued, provided the marriage has existed for less than five years. The resident spouse permit is issued for a maximum period of five years. A one-time fee of $250.00 is charged to cover the permit, regardless of the amount of time remaining in the five-year period. An application is made for permanent residence or citizenship after five years or more of marriage.

Category 2

a) Items (a) through (h) of Category 1.
b) A copy of the sponsor's work permit, permit to reside, certificate of permanent
residence or lawful authority to reside in The Bahamas.

Category 3

a) Items (a) through (h) of Category 1, except for item (c).
b) Financial reference from a reputable bank verifying economic worth, i.e., citing a figure range.
c) Two written character references.

Category 4

Under this category non-Bahamians who own second homes in The Bahamas may apply to the Director of Immigration for an annual homeowner's residence card. This card is renewable annually and entitles the owner, spouse and any minor child/children endorsed on the owner's card when traveling with the owner, to enter and remain in The Bahamas for the validity of the card. The fee is $500.00 per year, and is intended to facilitate entry into The Bahamas with minimal formalities by:

1. Obviating the need for return tickets.
2. Obviating provision of proof of maintenance ability upon entering the country.
3. Entitling the holder to visit for a stay of up to one year.

Requirements for qualifying under this category are:

1. Letter of request.
2. Two passport size photographs of applicant.
3. Application form.
4. Proof of property ownership in The Bahamas.
5. Proof of the existence of a home (house) on property.
6. Processing fee of $25.00.

Successful applicants in any of these categories are not permitted to engage in employment.

From your link:

Stern was also served with legal papers outside the courthouse for allegedly giving perjured statements in connection with Birkhead's paternity suit, Birkhead told E! Online.

Interesting.

It sounded like that is new, only since they are footing his post-ANS-Death legal costs.

I'm sorry I thought you were suggesting that Stern could get residency in the Bahamas due to their fake marriage. I now she you think that California might accept them as being legally married which has nothing to do with the Bahama residency permit. Stenr clearly said on the stand in court that they were not legally married.

I did. One call after another from Shane.. multiple calls per evening.... sounded like she wasn't calling him back and he kept calling finally just saying Shane, December 15, 2006, 11'30 p.m...... that kind of thing, no statements of any kind.

I thought she got her residency the week before the baby was born?

What's your source on September 11?

These calls were recorded to a cassette tape or a computer and they were recorded the day after each call was received. Who ever recorded them must have felt that they were important enough to record on to tape or computer the following day after each one was received.

He does not say anything of importance in his messages but the time periods that called were not during Bahamian business hours. So that may show that the calls were of a personal matter and not a business matter. Also the number he is calling from is most likely his home phone number or personal cell phone number.

I'd say that Howard hasn't determined which hat he will wear to get at the money. For all we know, he's been stashing it for years. Anna buys "goods" and I believe probate carries with it an inventory of her possessions.

I bet Howard has been laundering her stuff for ages. Remember, the 10 carat rock was "new". Marshall gave her a 22 carat rock and jewelry up the kazoo. TrimSpa said she receives $X every month.

AND, I don't think that Howard can get at the Marshall money.

I don't have the link handy but it came from one of the Bahamian news sources (I posted the link to the report in the last thread when I had found it). The permit came through the day after Daniel died but I don't think Anna & Stern were aware of it until deep into September. Some say that is why Daniel was not buried until Oct because she was aware or was still waiting on her residency permit to come through.

You can search the Bahamian Newspaper archives here...

It's a great start Liz...Now it means inserting things...like when did Howard CALL OR EMAIL KAPOOR for the prescription. Doctors need some type of communication from the patient or representative. They just don't sit down and say: Hey, maybe I'll write a prescription for Anna today. Hmmmm, what name shall I use?

Howard HAD to "Direct" Kapoor.
