You might find it shocking to know that the whole posting membership of FR does not have a dossier including a full CV and bio of each other poster that would indicate which cliched phrase might offend which people.

There are a number of Dems with a firmly better record on guns than Repubs - and I've been known to vote for 'em.
Just because there's an (R) after a name doesn't mean good, and
just because there's a (D) after a name doesn't mean bad.
It's a good indicator, but not always true. At least in NY, some of the candidates were plainly in the wrong party.
