The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...

Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

And probably bring roundabouts with it.

Ack!! Not more roundabouts. But you know, it could be worse. Check out this one. How the heck are you supposed to navigate this?

Oh, good gosh... Called "magic" because you're gonna need it to survive?

Oh, and *please* don't show that to any of the county planners!

It looks more like a spirograph drawing than a road!

Or kaleidescope, maybe.

That’s complicated but it looks like it makes sense... you use the little roundabouts to get heading the direction you want on the big one.

A bunch of stoplights would be easier but I guess those are too out-of-date or something.

You're not to go near the county road planners, either...

I used to be able to do that with my Spirograph...

Hey, I didn’t say it was a good idea, or that I’d enjoy it, but I do see how you’d have to use it.

Thanks Jen. I understand Jim’s logic on this, but I doubt if I approve of the housecleaning. ‘Course it’s not up to me anyway :-)

I’m having a heck of a time...it won’t send. Keeps disconnecting.

I’m going to try to upload it into the egroup. Do you still have access to the egroup?

I figure if I have it in pdf format, just about anyone can view it...you’re the second person I’ve given these grains to and the first person needed detailed instructions. These instructions are detailed (likely more than you require) but I figure once it’s done I won’t have to do it again!

Yeah, it’ll definitely be interesting to see who our final nominee is. I say “our” even though I’ve never registered as a Republican. But I’ve never voted otherwise.

They’re putting in a roundabout just down the block from our house. I don’t think I’m very happy about it, but I guess we’ll see how it affects traffic.

In other news, if you’re in the position to be needing or negotiating for someone else their supplemental Medicare insurance, check with me and I’ll tell you which one to avoid.

Fortunately because Nana is in skilled care, she can (and now has) opt out of the plan we chose. When wife explained what the plan offered to the Medicare worker and how they said they “covered everything medicare did” and went on to say they’d cover ~three~ as opposed to ~twenty~ days of skilled nursing, Medicare worker said “let me give you the number for Fraud.”

But it’s fixed now. Worse case scenario is that we might have a couple of $90 co-pays.

But that’s better than $90 x 21 (or more).

I’m going to try one more time. I saved it in rtf and the pictures just look awful. But when I saved *that* as a pdf (I have a free pdf maker that is just awful but it works) the pictures show up fine.

So when you get the rtf (and when you get a chance) let me know if the pictures are clear.

To: no one in particular

I need a nap.

I swear I just heard the news reporterette say that we are expecting “nipple-sized hail.”

But I think the word was ~nickel~

Yeah, nickel-sized is much more precisely descriptive.
