AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2236) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | March 8, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 03/08/2007 6:05:24 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Dateline, Denver...

A bill has been introduced in Congress that would bar illegal aliens from getting credit cards. This is in response to it becoming known that Bank of America--one of the largest banks in the United States--had been handing out credit cards to illegal aliens.

Meanwhile, in Massachusetts, a raid by ICE netted 325 suspected illegal aliens.

Eko-wackos, call your office. After 2005, a year with a rediculously high number of Atlantic hurricanes, it was postulated that globull warming would result in higher and higher casualty losses. The year 2006 has now been reported as "well below the long-term trend".

Also on the globull warming front--the national average temperature for the entire United States in February 2007 was the 34th coolest in the last 113 years.

Sports Illustrated is even getting into the nonsense. They have an article out now, entitled "Going, Going Green--As Global Warming Changes the Planet, it is Changing the Sports World." In it is written: "In the last year and a half, scientists have noticed that once indestructible ice sheets on Greenland and Antarctica have begun to creep toward the sea." Note to editors of Sports Illustrated--use the brains God gave you for once for something other than oogling the Swimsuit Issue! If the ice sheets are creeping toward the ocean (as in NOT RETREATING!), then snowfall is INCREASING! It has to, it's the only way glaciers get bigger! Snowfall DOES NOT increase when it gets warmer! DUH!

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I'm afraid I have lost some roses, too. If so, I am replacing most of them with Buck's and Canadians. I am sick of losing stuff to these cold snaps.

Will do. My husband is going based on my request (we see about 2 movies per year in the theater).

For some reason, it isn't playing on this side of town so we have to drive to Plainfield (the closest) and that is 16 miles away!

The Dwarf Glads sound interesting, but glads in this part of the country must be lifted each fall and stored away where they won't winterkill. I'm just too busy in the fall to be assured of time to dig stuff up.

I'm sure I lots a bunch of stuff due to the extreme temps coupled with the warm December. I had a lilac bush budding out in December.

My lawn is an absolute sea of twigs as a result of the recent ice storm. The men have hauled away all the branches, but it's going to take a SERIOUS raking before it looks decent.

We have lots of sticks (not as many as you) but mostly I have TRASH which has blown in along the south fence line between out property and the street, and had been hidden by the snow. We had several windy days and we have newspaper, plastic bottles, etc.

Last week I gathered up a huge plastic tarp, newspapers, and a gallon milk jug that had been caught in the hedge along our driveway.

Just getting that trash picked up is going to make me feel better.

Cheapest I can find at Sam's....D has to have the fancy dancy coffee but mine, just wake me up and I am satisfied.

You talking flowers, etc., lady down the street gave me some Easter Lillie's, how do I plant them, never done that one before, sun, shade, semi shade.....

I like being different to a degree, at the entrance to our drive I have a parking meter, yep, a working parking meter that was given to me when I retired (they were telling me something I think) and going to give it a coat of Alum paint to dress it up a little, it is in the ground with concrete as I know teenagers, which I was one once.

I had some Easter lilies once that thrived in the sun. I planted them just below the surface....w/about 1-2 inches covering them.

Toby, I agree with Cm about the lilies. She gave good planting advice.

Forgot to tell you that, when planted outside, Easter lilies bloom in July.

Good morning. I'm just back from the eye doctor and my eyes are so dilated that even my study is too bright.

Molly, I tried to order that skirt from Appleseeds but they only had one size left and it wasn't my size. That must be last year's skirt and I'm hoping they re-offer it.

that's too bad, but it's a classic style, so it'll be back. I think these places more and more are pretty careful with their inventory, so look for it, and order quickly!

You're right about the inventory, Molly. It always amazes me that some stores carry a huge inventory; I don't know how they stay in business doing that because styles change, although the classics (what little is left of them) remain.
