As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
Sorry for late start--jet lag.
Algore will be testifying on the Hill about globull warming, and will also deliver to the Congress "hundreds of thousands" of letters and postcards he has received demanding climate change legislation.
Meanwhile, the European Union says mankind must keep the increase in planet temperature to less than two degrees Celsuis over the next century (yep-100 years)--but the goal is alledgedly unattainable.
One of the reasons it may be unattainable is that globull warming is so bad, that Mars is heating up. So that means that mankind has somehow caused the Sun to get hotter? It's all George Bush's fault.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I find it interesting how the definition of "old" shifts as one ages.
I remember thinking of 30 as old (when I was 18).
Once I neared 30, It shifted to 45 or so.
Now, at 38, with a lot of work years under my belt, and many friends/professional acquaintances/pub buddies between 25 and 60, I guess I think of 70 plus as old.
Then I wonder how I'll feel about that in 25 years or so.
I guess one exception to that perspective is after 90+ hours of plowing snow in a week, when I feel really old right then.

You are indeed a diplomat. Have you ever considered politics as a second career?
To: Iowa Granny
:-)
Actually, not until recently, when our school board went off the deep end, and is now a three-ring circus.
Of course, I am probably moderate enough, at least when it comes to trying to pull people together/actually accomplish something, that it would be an all out attack fest on Coopster because he wasn't a "true conservative", or a "true liberal", or a RINO, DINO, etc...depending on who was writing the articles.
I might actually consider it if they start a political party called "pragmatist".

He is far too modest about his diplomatic skills. He is much-appreciated for taking on the difficult task of changing the democrat sister's mind about trying to take over Christmas Eve and changing everything.
I was absolutely unable to deal with it, because I lose my temper and say things that can't be taken back. The Coopster managed to not only change her mind but make her feel GOOD about it.
He is my "go to" guy whenever there is family conflict.

Well, he dug Toby out of the 'do do'. So I think he's a pretty sharp fella.
That's a talent that should be used. Used somewhere other than a posting board.
School and Church issues are difficult to resolve. I know, because I've been in the middle of both in my lifetime. Perhaps Coop can 'play around the edges' to see what he can get done under the radar.
To: The Coopster
Oh my friend, think of being 70, can't think to far in the future then, you are stuck with it.

Hmmm....here's something to think about:
1. If you are getting a private address assignment, then your network card is not 'seeing' the router or was denied a DHCP address assignment. Sometimes it's as simple as going to the admin page of the router (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and turning ON the DHCP function. If other computers are getting a DHCP address from the router, then this is not the cause.
2. Sometimes it's something as simple as a network cable being bad. If you go to Accessoriws and run the Command Line interpreter (CMD) you should at least be able to ping 192.168.0.1 or ping 192.168.1.1...If you get 00% packet loss, then your network connection could be bad.
3. Sometimes you need to open up the properties in the network connection for the network interface and add your router address as a 'gateway' address (you are telling your computer to send everything network-wise through an address).
4. And sometimes you can go into Tools/Options and set the Connections to 'Auto-detect network settings' and it magically works...
5. And sometimes, you can just create a whole new network connection with DHCP and use that one.
And as a last resort, you can go to Device Manager of My Computer, delete the network card and have Windows detect 'new' hardware, at which time you could make sure that you have the right driver an all that...
Hope the above helps...;-))
To: lysie
That should say 'if you get 100% packet loss' but I think you knew that...;-))
To: Bitwhacker
Please contact your network administrator or your isp.... I hate seeing those messages. Because they refer to ME! And what am I supposed to do when I get a message like that? Talk to myself? Call and leave an abusive message to myself?
I get so conflicted.... :>)

It's official. As of the 20th, I was relieved from the 301st and assigned to inactive status at the Air Reserve Command up in Denver. I miss being a part of the 301st, and actually shed a tear or two when I opened those orders. Which I finally got today. Sheesh. The military is always the same... hurry up and wait....

Thank you for your service, johnny.

I am closing down the computer and heading West. I need to get a head start on some stuff.
I'll report in tomorrow if time allows.
To: lysie
It's actually very easy to fix. You simply call Rachel and let her talk you through it. And if that doesn't work, have her roll either Paul or Greg out your way to make a house-call and repair the problem. Greg is really good, and Paul will talk your ear off...
Assuming that you aren't part of my network, and don't have those guys available to help you out... the next best thing is to take a fire axe to the computer and hack it into flinders.
I've really simplified troubleshooting in the last 3 months. :>).

It wasn't enough. I was honored to be allowed. Getting out is as tough as a divorce. I'll be a little weepy for a couple of months.
God bless the men that fly and fight. I wish I could still cook for them.

You made a comment somewhere in the previous section (posts 51 - 100) about politicians screwing up the war.
See my tagline.

I love it....
How is JT, haven't seen him on lately. You have there something to really be proud of.
To: Jemian
We have a guest preacher in our church today, I took a dozen eggs to he and his wife and gave them the eggs after church, was told me 'there is a first for everything' and laughed. He has a 5th wheel to travel from church to church, real good message he gave.
To: gulfcoast6; JemiansTerror
I haven't seen him online lately either. Although I am seeing via Facebook that he has been either online or calling his friends. He does "poke" me on Facebook so I know he's alright.
His priorities in life are changing. I am no longer the #1 woman in his life. Big sigh. BOTOH, that is as it should be.
Thank you for your compliments. I am very proud of him. Oh yes! One prayer request that he has: some of his buddies are giving him a hard time about his Christian faith. Pray that not only will he remain strong with a consistent walk and witness but that the witness will be with the pungency of the Holy Spirit and will win the buddies to the Lord.
