I love Maple Syrup
The North American Maple Syrup Council (lots of links here) ^

Posted on 03/02/2007 8:52:31 AM PST by 1rudeboy

I love maple syrup, and not just as something I put on pancakes, but as an all-around condiment and flavoring. I've placed it in chili, barbeque sauce, and pie crusts. Its versatility as a supplement to, or substitute for sugar, is completely under-rated. I hail maple syrup! Keep away from children.

My BIL has a near-commercial sized sugaring operation at his place in Vermont. I get a lifetimesupply of syrup for helping out, and it is A LOT of work.

Maple makes a great glaze for meats (cedar planked salmon, baked ham, roast turkey, BBQ brisket, etc). Substitute it anywhere you'd use brown sugar in a recipe for entrees & sides (sweet potatoes for ex.) & it gives a yummy twist to southern classics.

You would never eat maple syrup again if you would try Steen's Cane Syrup.

Totally different. But rum's good, too.

"Maplethorpe! Maplethorpe! Maplethorpe!", he exclaimed.

She looks at him with disgust but goes to the counter, picks up the maple syrup and puts in on the kitchen table for him

Some people need a refresher course on the site rules.

Maple syrup is excellent. But my southern side demands real Sorghum molasses. Now that's the good stuff. Cane syrup is almost as good. But corn syrup...that's for .....Gulianis!
