A 41-year-old Redding man charged with molesting a 12-year-old girl told investigators the child was his girlfriend and he loved her, court records show. [snip] After spending hours on the telephone wooing the girl, the relationship heated up around Christmas and Hakmiller arrived at the girl's home, police said. She introduced him to her parents, who apparently believed he was much younger, and on Christmas Eve he took her to an arcade and an Upland motel, the documents alleged.
Hakmiller and the girl allegedly had sexual contact and he bought her makeup and lingerie for a second day together at the motel, police said. On their third day together, Hakmiller drove her to his Redding home, police said.
The girl's parents apparently consented to the trip because they believed Hakmiller wanted to introduce the girl to his family, according to the reports. [snip]
Hakmiller and the girl allegedly had more sexual contact in Redding, and he returned her to Ontario about a day later, investigators said.

The dirty secret is that certain radical types don't see anything wrong with adult child sex. Certain types want to reduce age of consent for sex for that reason. maybe this girls parents are very liberal and don't see any harm to the girl.

Haven't decided what to do about the parents yet, but they really shouldn't be parents.
The girl's parents should have figured out this guy was too old for their daughter when he drove himself to their house.
it shouldn't. she's already a solid 1/3 older than his bride!

Okay, let's see here. The parents thought he was "much younger", the implication being that they thought he was of an age that wasn't inappropriate for dating a 12 year old girl. Then they let him take her on a "trip" that they apparently realized wasn't just down the block for a few hours.
Do you suppose anyone has asked these parents (to use the term very loosely) just what age range they think fits both requirements? I mean I went on a "date" to a party when I was 12, but the boy was also 12, and his parents were driving.
The rest of the story is even more bizarre. Don't settle for just the excerpt.
You DID notice that this is from San Francisco, didn't you? There is an abundance of IQ problems there. If you don't believe me, check out the guy they elected as mayor.
