So I guess the rule is, don't buy or build in a future flood area, or your Kilo-Grandchildren may be inconvenienced.

I figure by that time we will have figured out how to build proper dikes.

"I figure by that time we will have figured out how to build proper dikes."

I think it makes more sense to implement a program called "Flood Area -- No Building" just as we do for some river frontage.

First step, New Orleans should be condemned. It should be unlawful to issue flood insurance there. I don't care what kind of sump pumps they have.

As the ocean rises, and reclaims the shore, the shore moves inland. New oceanfront! Buy yours today! (But no insurance.)

This, of course, is assuming the projected trends continue, which is iffy.

Cities like New York may opt for some high tech solutions, with barrier walls and flood controls such as are currently used for subways and tunnels. Maybe they'll bring in landfill to raise the street level. As DC suggests, we'll adapt. It's what we do.

By the way, if "Global Warming" actually does occur, Manitoba will become a much nicer place.

There's a lot of room in Manitoba.

My preliminary information is that a risen ocean will not cause as much flooding in Manitoba as the retreating glaciers did.

If the growing season were to be extended by several months, most of us would feel comfortable living there.

We follow the progress, for example, of Prof-ette Dr.[Sup]2] Tulip Tree the 76th's "big paper" and are arrnaging the giant earth-moving equipment for its delivery (and the disposal of the draft). Look back a couple hundred posts for the photos.

I really like driving this thing...

The Tax Table now... I'll leave to someone else to explain.

The Tax Table is my fault too. I work on the "big paper" there. Although it's a pretty big table, I don't need to use the truck to move it... It fits in my backpack. :-)

Maybe I'll go there when I'm finally forced to flee Kalimexifornia.....

Do they have DSL there yet?

Ah, so the truck is just for frivolous fun????

All that CO2 blowing into our precious atmosphere just so you can drive around making very large road kill????

I'm telling Big Al on you...

Oh, it's not frivolous. We got the truck to haul the "big paper" around. The zombies wouldn't help moving it. And I couldn't talk enough of the guys around here to help me!

I can't stand the dang zombies....all they do is stand around and eat.

Anyway, I would rather drive around making very large road kill...

Nah...I'm too active to be sore. My muscles are still good, as I use a Gazelle. But I'm not good for longer than 15 minutes, whether it's working out or moving boxes!

I don't like making road kill. I still try to avoid the creatures that get into my path. I attached some of those deer whistles on the front bumper. If you look *REALLY* closely you can see them in the picture. :-)
