Sour gherkins are better. It sets off all that sweet stuff, and brings out the salt in the chips. But you have to have the right bread too. The cheapest, doughiest white bread you can find. Last I checked, that would be Wonder.
Wonder ain't cheap. Check out the frozen bread dough that you bake yourself. Let it rise too much & then punch it down. Let it rise again & then bake it before it's risen as much as it should. If you do it just right, it will be doughy enough to sit in your stomach days after you've eaten it.
