LOL...I could just see the Cindy Sheehan crowd coming up on this show and start screaming about the "huge military industrial complex"...that they accuse of being the ones responsible for keeping us in war...they want MONEY!!! LOL
fire, aim, ready!
Notice these are built with employees across the spectrum of race, age, etc ... folks who have made it their business to walk the straight and narrow and do what it took to qualify for a highly sensitive and complex job. You just have to know they get paid really well. Do we hear about these success stories?
I'm surprised they can hit things a mile away.
And TWO miles .. whew!
I didn't hear that, amazing.
The Abrams M-1 tank is built in Lima, Ohio where some of my aunts and uncles live.
Yes, that's the 2nd stop in their journey to newness. What a fantastic program ... it's on again on March 1, at 6pm est.
thanks, I will have to check that out.
I used to live next door, in Indian Oaks, Saks.
No but what they have is air filters by The Donaldson Co.
Donaldson currently provides filtration solutions for Boeing and Airbus commercial jets, B52 and C17 military aircraft, piston-powered airplanes, Army helicopters, M1 Abrams tanks, Stryker vehicles, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, M109 Self Propelled Howitzers, M88 recovery vehicles, M113 Armored Personnel Carriers, FMTV trucks and gen-sets.
???
In the process of refurbishing the damaged, rusted hulks of the M1 from the battlefield .. they're made new from bottom to top.
To get rid of the rust and dirt, there's this special "hangar" .... 8 ton, 30ft. high doors... that's how huge it is.
A special huge chain assembly tows the tank so that it's eventually hanging vertically, upside down in this hangar. Then, for 90 mins., jillions of microscopic steel ships are
sprayed under high speed at this hulking tank, as it slowly
rotates in the chamber.
At the end of 90 mins., the tank is spotlessly clean steel .. brand new .. no rust. And it's ready to begin the journey for retrofitting, adding the rebuilt engine (which
is a jet aircraft engine) and all the telemetry and electronics, artillery, etc.
It's an amazing tank, and this show is fantastic.
