But for the ultimate in XP customization, check out Stardock and their themes at Wincustomize.com. It's not free, but desktops like this become average.

I was talking about linux as just example of non-MS OS. It could be BSD, Mac_OS, Unix .., CPM, OS2 .., Xenix..

Your aversion to the work hack gives you away as someone I would not want running the security of my network.

Not sure what you are trying to say since your English seems to be failing again, but some of the basic rules of security are to be careful where you go and what you do. Especially be wary of someone who refers to themselves as a "hacker", or uses "LEET" for their username and sends you off to some hacker site with skull and crossbones across the top.

Here is a hint: The really dangerous hackers don't host site with titles like hackaday and post instructions on how to build an HD TV antenna or change the voice of a toy dog. Its a pathetic attempt to smear a pretty fun site.

Are you saying that because of the 3's in my name you have cause to believe I am somehow out to damage anyones PC? or perform an otherwise illegal act?

Double cool. PCLinuxOS 2007 running in a VPC.

I haven't tried VirtualPC 2007 yet. I'm used to running VMWare Player. But it is nice to have a free product like Virtual PC that will let you create your own Virtual machines wherein VMWare Player is only made to use VMs, not create them. Although there are tools that you can use to create a VM and, of course, you can boot an .ISO of a live CD distro. And if this is like the old version of Virtual PC, you can import your VPCs into VMWare with a tool available from VMWare.

What good is it if it only allows you to switch between Micro$oft operating systems?

Make it so I can run XP and Apple and Linux, then we can talk.

Speaking of which, does anyone know how the MS offering compares to VMware. I know their last version was crap compared to either VMWare, xen, or just about anyone else.

I agree. I tried out the previous version of VirtualPC after using VMWare for a while, and it wasn't very good. I uninstalled it.
