FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A Florida judge in the Anna Nicole Smith body and baby battle went toe-to-toe Tuesday with lawyers for her mother and two men claiming to be the father of her infant daughter in a bizarre hearing that at one point even turned to prayers for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It could very well have been. This guy is a rip and he has no problem verbally knocking a lawyer around the courtroom if he thinks he deserves it. He's into equal opportunity as well, defense and prosecuting attorneys are both fair game.

Everything was left to Daniel and excluded any future born children. The baby will inherit, but she will do so as an heir to Daniel, not her mother. Daniel's father (Anna Nicole's long ago ex-husband) is in line to collect as well since he is the primary heir to his son.

Keep Bill Clinton away from the body.

I for one think the judge is auditioning for a Hollywood part. Calling the medical examiner Dr. Pepper and a lot of other stupid comments. he is a jerk and is making a huge mockery of our court system.

I'm watching this thing in AMAZEMENT! This Judge is absolutely out of control. I feel like I'm watching Boston Legal. This Judge should be disbarred. Are there any legal types here watching this? I'm just a layman, but even I know this is inappropriate in a courtroom.

Hey sweetie,

I'm watching it too. As someone who has practiced probate, I am appalled at this proceeding. This "judge" is beyond belief! There shouldn't even be a hearing. The issue is very simple. The mother gets the body. She is the next of kin. The baby is a baby; therefore, she is not competent to have any say in this matter.

If the baby wants to move the body when she is of age, fine. But for now, there is no question that the mother is the only party with a claim to the body.

There is no need for the theatrics of this judge. What a yahoo!

It is amazing what he is getting away with.
This is a very serious matter, deciding where a decomposing body will be buried, showing no respect for Ms Smith.
I agree her should be disbarred.
He might have heard on Larry King last week how much money Judge Judy makes now and this is his audition.

IT IS AN ABSOLUTE CIRCUS.

Unfortunately, a judge can get away with nonsense like this. Most judges think that it's "my courtroom." This judge can only be reined in by an appellate court, a judicial ethics commission, or the voters.

But for this matter, he is in control. And he is sure looking like a fool.

IMO, he's not even fit for a "judge judy" show, let alone determining legal issues. What is it about Florida courts? LOL!

Good grief. If I start taking up a collection can be buy some time without anything to do with Anna Nicole Smith? There apparently is NO news going on in the world judging from what one finds on tv. Did we pull out of Iraq or something?

Hmmm..... Doesn't appear that ANS had much respect for her own body, personal affairs or reputation while she was alive. Have you seen the clown video? Well, if not take a gander at an obviously strung out, 8-month pregnant woman with clown make-up. Pretty hard to be reverent for someone who lived their life as recklessley as she did and obviously endangering her unborn child.

Judge Seidlin is always like this.

This is not an act.

If you really want to understand the situation here and why the excellent texas lawyer is powerless, you must understand Judge Seidlin is looking to force some sort of settlement between the parties. Settlements can not be appealed since all the parties agreed. (absent some form of fraudulent inducement)

What we really have here is a fight over who is going to be able to sell the rights to the funeral and the rights to the open casket pictures.

Folks, these are the trial level judges who populate the courts. This is the level of "working judge" the average citizen has to deal with day in and day out. These are not the rare intelectual elite that occasionally populate the appelate courts or on rare occasion the federal courts.

This is what the Florida Bar, Texas Bar, Georgia Bar, NY Bar, DC Bar does not want you to see when they do their "PROTECT JUDICIAL INDEPENDENCE" programs.

I had the procedings on replay and if anyone had it taped, could they check this out and send this to the proper venue.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While watching toady's trial, Feb. 21, I noticed that Howard left his drinking cup on the podium of where he was sitting. The time was about
4:38 P.M. It was not removed when Larry Birkhead sat down.

About 4:41 P.M. Birkhead looks like the cat who swallowed the mouse, watch his actions and his attorneys, with the cup and the water bottle his attorney brings over to him. There looks like there was a big switch of the cup. Suddenly Howard's cup is gone.

Birkhead looks suspicious again at 5:32 P.M.

I only had it on replay tv, so I didn't save it, but if someone could view it and judge it, I think it is worth looking into.

Time for THE LIST!!!!!

This case has not been so much about the Tabloid Anna Nicole Smith, but the legal crises surrounding;
The death of a son - about to reach his majority (age 21)of undetermined manner and cause. Could be homicide.
The birth of a daughter - whose paternity and custody is in question - who may also have been born addicted to illegally obtained prescription drugs.
The premature, undetermined death of the infant's mother -could be homicide, suicide or misadventure.
Conspiracy to access a $1.6billion estate and eliminate per stirpes heirs.
Conspiracy by lawyers and foreign government officials to circumvent immigration laws for fraudulent purposes.
Intent to defraud owners of real property and real estate.
Illegal transportation of prescription drugs, by interstate and international waters.
Potential kidnapping of a US citizen.
Creation and presentation of fraudulent documents to avoid parental and custodial rights.
Possible religious bias against a Southern Baptist/Christian upbringing for a child who had a GODMOTHER appointed by her mother, who had a "Baptist" minister perform a "committment ceremony". Will the self-appointed father honor this religious affiliation or circumvent it?

WE SHOULD ALL BE TERRIFIED THAT THESE SAME LAWYERS, GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND JUDGES COULD PUT ALL OF US IN JEOPARDY.

A REVIEW OF ALL THE "LEGAL" RULINGS TO DATE SHOULD REMIND US TO NEVER LEAVE OUR AFFAIRS IN THE HANDS OF LAWYERS OR JUDGES.
