Pinching my nostrils and taking three swallows of water without stopping usually works for me.

I feel sorry for her. You would think that there is some kind of tranquilzer that would remedy this.
As for me, I always keep sugar in my office and at home for those rare occassions that I get the hiccups. A spoonful of sugar on the tongue and swallow without chewing always works for me.

I wonder if Dr. Death has suggested assisted suicide. It is a QUALITY of life issue.

There is thought that this is a neuropathy issue.
I think I've run across Thorazine as a good medication to control it or get rid of it. Not sure I got the name right, but think that was it.

In a more serious vein, I wonder if the impulses are being triggered by something neurological; something that traditional home remedies wouldn't resolve.

She should hold one arm straight up in the air (while standing) and drink a 12 ounce glass of water as quickly as possible. Works everytime for me...
To: Cagey
The drink from the opposite side of the glass method has never failed me, so I've never tried anything else. But heck, I'll try some of the others here just for fun.
Here's a question, if I wanted to experiment, are there any could ways to induce hiccups? (Beside getting blotto on draft beer?)

Chugalug about half a can of soda (nowadays usually Fresca, but once Coke Classic) nearly always works for me...but stubborn hiccups that soda or sugar won't budge, I use the 1 teaspoon of French's yellow mustard...
