Phillips, a native Texan, became the seventh coach in franchise history Thursday, agreeing to a three-year deal with a one-year option to replace Bill Parcells. Phillips, 59, arrived in Dallas Thursday afternoon after an early-morning flight from San Diego on a private plane and the talks were concluded at a local hotel.

Phillips follows Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo and Parcells as Cowboys head coach .....

Jerry Jones has fired every coach the Cowboys have ever had, and we all know what Wade Phillips dad, Bum Phillips had to say about coaches.

That's too bad. I was really hoping for Norv Turner who sucked in Washington and Oakland and would have continued his suckage in Dallas. Of course, Turner had the nerve to suggest control over personnel decisions and that killed his chances.

hahaha! Yep!

I was going to comment in the article post something to the effect that Jones changes coaches as often as he changes his underwear. :)

...and we all know what Wade Phillips dad, Bum Phillips had to say about coaches.

I have probably heard it, but don't recall...

"Chan Gailey"

I remember seeing that guy constantly look over his shoulder when Jerry Jones would be overlooking the field in his scaffolding tower during practice.

Jerry Jones is the problem.

I have probably heard it, but don't recall..

There are two types of coaches: Those who have been fired, and those who are going to get fired.
Bum Phillips

Suckage? I've got to remember that one!

I'm trying right now to use it in a sentence.

Everyone talks about how winning is everything to Jones; but it's obviously not as important as his ego, or he would step aside and hire a football person to be his GM.

And why does he get a pass from the media? Jones has been worse than Matt Millen since the Jimmy Johnson built teams have gone away... I guess it's because of two playoff appearances and the Parcells hiring, but I'm surprised they don't slam him.

Jimmy Johnson is a good coach, although he couldn't do anything for the Dolphins. In Dallas, he was the beneficiary of perhaps the stupidest trade in league history, Herschel Walker for everything the Vikings had and would have for years to come.

It would be hard not to be good when you get so many first round picks.

HELLO....I am NOT happy with this hire.

Nothing personal to Wade...I was just hoping for someone NEW...that would be young and exciting..

Guess what?? I feel the same way about Wade Phillips as I do the GOP candidates for POTUS..

NONE of them make me excited...

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!!

Parcells wasn't fired. He had enough. He retired.
