Around the ESPN.com watercooler, it's a debate that sees more consternation than "Tastes great" versus "Less filling": Who is the more dominant performer, Tiger Woods or Roger Federer?
Each stated his case with another stunning victory on Sunday, as Woods claimed the Buick Invitational for his seventh consecutive PGA Tour victory and Federer notched the Australian Open for his third straight Grand Slam title.
If anything, the two players only added fuel to the fire with their most recent wins. Golf editor Jason Sobel and frequent tennis contributor Matt Wilansky debate which player is the most dominant athlete in this edition of Alternate Shot.

Awesome analogy.
I didn't appreciate it at the time because I my main sports were swimming and basketball, although I do have a district doubles championship under my belt. (shameless bragging) Now I would love to have our court near me.
Don't be a (blood)dope!! (just kidding, ducking even faster, and adding I never believed he did!)
To quote Bobby Jones - "Golf is a game that is played on a five-inch course - the distance between your ears."
Well that's a good point.
and it is a very slow surface so it makes you display a different skill other than a whammer/jammer style of play.
I guess I just get tired of seeing players that look like they've been in a paint ball battle playing with a ball that's doubled in weight.
But I yield to your expertise in the matter. Golf is my thing ;-)
Both of which are again entirely different than a US Open course.
I agree, I don't think Tiger will match Nelson's streak. That is one of those records like the 17-0 Miami Dolphins, or Ted Williams hitting over .400 for a season, or Gretzky's 200+ points in a season.
Oh, I don't need to look. I saw it. But, I am a very literal guy.......... and you said Norman gave his Green Jacket away.
I saw the damn Meltdown.
Now ............ next time when you say Greg Norman's giving away his clothes ........ I'll never believe you.
;-)
They cost a fortune to put in...... I guess you know.
Back about 35 years ago when my wife and I bought this house and four acres near some woods, we had a contractor clear a half acre in the back for a tennis court. When we found out how much it would be to actually put it in ....... we forgot about it.
LOL........... oh, the silliness of youth.
;-)
I disagree. There is just not as much competition in bicycle racing.
But, Lance is one fantastic athlete.
But in the case of Hillary ...... that head may be a little wider.

Ok....how about John Cena of Professional Wrestling, then? I think Wrestlemania is one of their majors.
HAHAHA - kidding!!

LOL
That's why they call the great players on clay......... "dirtballers".
LOL
........ or DiMaggio's .
Who cares? They both are at the top of their games, they are both fun to watch, and they will never have to play each other. I like them both, and I have no need to make one "better" than the other!
I'm almost sorry I started this thread.
The point I was trying to make which I have said numerous times here is that hese two guys are a great joy for me to see play their game.
I consider it a huge treat to see them perform ...... because I think they both are brilliant.
;-)
But Tiger has:
Maybe we should fix Roger up with darling Maria.

It's easy...it matters which sport you enjoy more! ME? It's tennis, although we watched Tiger yesterday and he is extraordinary to say the least. Apropos to nothing, I'm going to my first live boxing event in two weeks and I'm SO excited!
