Glad to hear you are home. How's the weather? Are you staying put for a while?
Well, I occasionally forget what I posted read and where.
I am home until Monday morning
That's good.
I suppose I'll have to wander out to get groceries sometime. And Sunday Tommy Tompkins is going to be in Iowa City and I'd sort of like to go hear what he's got to say.
I don't blame you. If you go could you give us a report...sometime?
First, you make a big pot of soup with 1 lb carrots, i large bunch of celery, 2 cans of tomatoes, 1 can fat free beef broth, 2 cans green beans, 2 green peppers, i bunch of green onions, and i package Liton's chicken noodle soup mix. Cook until vegetables are soft, season with salt, pepper, hot sauce, worcestershire, etc.
You eat this soup for two meals every day. The only drinks allowed are water, unsweetened juices, black coffee, tea, and skim milk. No alcohol or carbonated beverages.
Then, for a wekk, you eat only the things listed on each day.
Day One...soup and fruits, any fruit you like except bananas.
Day Two..Soup and vegetables only, no fruit. In the evening one large baked potato with butter.
Day Three...Soup and fruit and vegetables, no bananas or potatoes.
Day Four ...Soup and at least 3 bananas with as much skim milk as you can comfortable drink
Day Five...Soup and 10-20 ounces of beef and up to six tomatoes
Day Six...Soup, as much beef as you want, and vegetables.
Day Seven...Brown rice and vegetables
This is a quick-start weight loss program developed by Sacred Heart Hospital (forgot the city). I was starting on Weightwatchers so I figured doing this one week wouldn't hurt. My husband is hoping that he will lose about 10 pounds and also that his appetite will have shrunk.
Personally, I am not thrilled about this diet but he wanted to try it so I said ok. It is enough to drive you crazy, though, particularly when you have to make FRENCH FRIES for your grandchildren!!
What about another S, no Starches? That would elimate rice, pastas and potatoes.
If I go to hear Tompkins on Sunday, I will let you know what I think.
Next Tuesday I am going to an event to hear Huckabee speak.
(and I overheard someone talking about sending back their RSVP to a Hiltery event this weekend in Des Moines,, )
You will be able to read the AP reports on the Hillary event, you don't need me on that one.
Yours would be more interesting, though. And definitely more truthful!
Perhaps my report of a Hitlery event would be more interesting, but it would be fragmented, because I'd have to leave the computer to go wretch so many times while composing the report.
I think it's time for me to go to bed. I am exhausted. I'm going to check out for the evening.
I will rouse the Dawn Patrol in about 8 hours.
Good night!
I LOVE soup! BUT I love noodles more with the soup.
Wow you are brave, let us know how you are handling a week of soup only I may try it I don't know.
I could not believe it, Comcast in our area was replaced by TimeWarner cable, well I realized I had not received emails in a few days, called timewarner, seems comcast failed to tell me to change my email address before they pulled the plug.
Timewarner sent me all that was on Comcast mail, 2800 emails to sift thru and send change of email address to.
What a headache!
It is really driving me nuts. It is making this a VERY long week! LOL!
I am doing this to help him, but I told him after this week I am going on Weightwatchers, where I can eat whatever I want only keeping withing the points parameter. I lost weight and kept it off until the double whammy of quitting smoking and the holidays. I absolutely have to get my weight down because it is bad for my joints (I have a bad knee with pins in it) and my blood pressure. Plus I hate how I look. And none of my spring clothes will fit me and we are going to Disney in June.
So, I am going to be eating healthy stuff and losing that weight, pronto!
Good for you to start again.
If your husband didn't like WW because of having to track his intake he might just love this one.
Have him check out the No S site testimonials. I found them very inspiring.
