January 23, 2007, Tuesday, DABBLE
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Tomorrow Im bringing in chains, so beware.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

To support installation of new carpet and painting of walls, everyone in cubes in the area from where Robert B sits all the way back to where Wayne H sits needs to have the contents of your cube packed in boxes by 5pm sharp on Friday. An army of cube installers will be here at 5pm on Friday 1-25-07. MJ will arrange for boxes. Standalone file cabinets can remain full. The contents of file cabinets built into your furniture must be packed in boxes. Book shelves must be pack in boxes.
The cube installers are not moving the computer equipment. We will all move our own computer equipment at the end of the day on Friday. Please don't leave on Friday before your computer is moved to another area of the building.
Don't try to lift the heavy tube monitors unless you are sure you can do it.
There are plenty of young folks here these days to help with the heavy lifting.
We will come up with a numbering scheme for labeling the boxes and cabinets so they can be put back to the proper location. Details later.
If you need to work after 5pm on Friday 1-25-07 and on Sat and Sun, you should plan on using a computer and cube in one of the other areas of the building.
Offices not affected, just cubes. But you should not plan on having a nice work environment on Sat and Sun in the walled offices in this area.
...
I am so NOT looking forward to dabbling at work this week...

well they were totally unmasked on that thread, it seems to me. the canard that Reagan wouldn't be good enough for the purists is just ridiculous. he was and IS. they are nonsensical in their criticism.

I agree with you SG about compliance when it comes to the illegals. The length of treatment is really a pain. A friend of ours contracted it about 12 or so years ago and it was a nightmare.
The source was traced back to a co-worker in the cafeteria of the college where they both worked. The cover-up of the outbreak was an absolute scandal that has not be publicized to this day. The college denied there were any cases, the cafeteria contractor denied it and even the Department of Health denied the sourc of the infection. Then DPH proceeded to make life a living hell for him, me, my husband, and a co-worker of mine. That came to an end when we had the lawyer we worked for at the time send a very strongly worded letter to them - along with the proof that both she and I were tested, by DPH, and found to be free of any infection.

Sheesh, Robert!
I thought you were talking about this classroom.
I had most of my stuff already packed. I forgot about my yo-yo and my beanie cap, though.
