If you think childrens birthday parties are getting out of control, youve come to the right place. We want to raise awareness of this problem and offer alternatives for parents and kids who want birthdays without pressure. We are a small group of parents and professionals in St. Paul, Minnesota with a vision to launch a local and national conversation about:
* What is out of control about birthday parties? * Why they have gotten out of control? * What are the consequences for kids and parents? * What can parents do about it?
We also have questions you can ask your child to find out what he or she really likes, and does not like, about birthday parties. Come and browse our website, share your stories take the quizzes, and spread the word that birthday parties can be fun and enjoyed without pressure.
* They get stressed out from parties that are too large and too orchestrated. * They are overindulged by too many presents. * They feel entitled to what they want, not just want they need. * They feel envious of friends who get moreand someone will always get more. * They feel disappointed, because enough is never enough. * Long term, they develop materialistic values that equate personal celebrations with accumulating things.
Beatings can cause Physiological Traumas...and that's exactly the gift I plan on giving...to any and all whinings...happy birthday, now here is your assbeating...
Supposed to "psychological"...My spell check changed the word.
I'm surprised they're not advocating celebrating everyones birthday at the same time, so no one feels left out. Oh , but then the birthday child wouldn't feel special enough and he'll need therapy. I guess they should all just sit in the corner and cry because nothing is ever perfect.
Now they are ruining kids' birthday parties.
F these clowns.

Frickin Brilliant!!! Its not fair to celebrate a birthday in front of those who have none!!!
Plus it would make Willis Magehee's job a whole lot easier!
Good, time-hallowed [and ipso facto conservative] approach; in late Middle Ages on important occasions [say, a royal visit, or an execution of a notorious criminal] the schoolchildren of the place would be routinely and soundly whipped so that they would remember the occasion better. Why shouldn't it apply to the birthdays as well?
Outstanding factoid, I plan to use it on my kids tonight to celebrate the Superbowl contenders...

We see a flashback of George at seven, sitting in front of a birthday cake with a shocked expression on his face, while Frank and Estelle scream at him:
FRANK: Blow out the candles! Blow out the candles, I said! Blow out the damn candles!
ESTELLE: Stop it, Frank! You're killing him!
LOL!
Be sure you always have a clown. Preferably Bozo.
Or Eric...
And on the other hand it is still silly!
Having said that, I do think that parents go overboard with the birthday parties at times especially for the under five crowd.
You always make me laugh MG70
I remember you saying on a different thread that you were a Seinfeld fan, so I remembered to ping you.
Thanks for the PING.
