What exactly is the problem with researching whether Christ was married or not? He was likely married, but I can't prove it nor could anyone prove he was single. We just don't have all the facts yet. If he was single, he disobeyed one of the first commandments to multiply and replenish the earth so I would be inclined that he was obedient in all things.

The problem is it might be dangerous for a small mind.

The problem is that it undermines the traditional Christian teaching that the Church is the bride of Christ. Christ as the archetype of husband to the Church as archetype of wife is most clearly stated in Ephesians chap 5.
The idea that someone who does not get married and have children is being disobedient to God is very strange to me. When the disciples suggests that "it is better not to marry", Christ responds there are some who "have renounced marriage for the kingdom of heaven" and rather than chastise them he instead says "he one who can accept this should accept it." However if you would, one could say that Christ gives life to children of God through the Church.

"What exactly is the problem with researching whether Christ was married or not?" Research what?
We have no data on the subject, and we have no way to get any without a divine revelation on the subject. Looking back through other people's speculations does not constiture research. GIGO
