Another lie presented as truth.
and as always there is no evidence to back it up.
Joey Smith was just a good con-man.

If any of Mary's other children went on to re-produce, the spread of their DNA throughout the genepool is such that you and I may also be able to make similar claim.

Does the author believe this "theory" or just believe that money can be made from it and that it can be used to paint an unpopular view of Mormons (like Romney)?

What many on FR may not know is that the Salt Lake Tribune which published this article is the #1 Newspaper in Utah.
These kinds of stories are common fare for us here in the State of Deseret.
It is interesting living in Utah, to say the least!

Joseph Smith was related to half of New England at the time. The major families of United States come from there. We just don't know alot about the Savior and his line if he had one. He came from a royal bloodline and any children would be heirs to that line. I expect that more will be found out about whether Christ was married and to whom. Research is not heretical.

"What exactly is the problem with researching whether Christ was married or not?"
The problem is it might be dangerous for a small mind.
To: Utah Binger
Smith appears to be a day late and a dollar short. His little twist on the previous books looks like a ripoff of someone else's ideas.

The problem is that it undermines the traditional Christian teaching that the Church is the bride of Christ. Christ as the archetype of husband to the Church as archetype of wife is most clearly stated in Ephesians chap 5.
The idea that someone who does not get married and have children is being disobedient to God is very strange to me. When the disciples suggests that "it is better not to marry", Christ responds there are some who "have renounced marriage for the kingdom of heaven" and rather than chastise them he instead says "he one who can accept this should accept it." However if you would, one could say that Christ gives life to children of God through the Church.

He says "Smith was directly descended from Jesus and Smith's wife was directly descended from Mary Madelene"
He has no proof but he wrote the book declaring it anyway. Unbelievable!

"What exactly is the problem with researching whether Christ was married or not?" Research what?
We have no data on the subject, and we have no way to get any without a divine revelation on the subject. Looking back through other people's speculations does not constiture research. GIGO

I'm not a guy who can quote chapter and verse, but I seem to remember something in the Bible which talks about following up on "useless geneologies". Am I mistaken?

He has no proof but he wrote the book declaring it anyway. But he knows the book is "true"
