AIRO, Egypt - The boys' deaths — scattered in the United States, in Yemen, in Turkey and elsewhere in seemingly isolated horror — had one thing in common: They hanged themselves after watching televised images of Saddam Hussein's execution.
Officials and relatives say the children appeared to be mimicking the former dictator's Dec. 30 hanging, shown both on a sanitized Iraqi government tape and explicit clandestine videos that popped up on Web sites and some TV channels.
The leaked videos, apparently taken by cell phone cameras, set off international outrage over the raucous scene at Saddam's execution, but some experts are more concerned about the images of the deposed Iraqi leader dropping through the gallows floor and his body swinging at the end of a rope.
The experts say such graphic images can severely affect youngsters who do not yet understand the consequences of death and violence — especially because Saddam's death received intense international attention.
"They see how it's done, but they don't think it's horrific, and they're more likely to imitate it," said Hisham Ramy, an associate professor of psychiatry at Ain Shams University in Cairo.

If this was real, then the story would have been all over the place.
My friend, I see the insanity/assinitity every day...I live in Los Angeles, the southern capital of the Left Coast. In general, I think there are ALOT of brain dead people in the world, but "devolving" - no, otherwise the good people on this forum would be an anomaly. I believe that we are indoctrinated into thinking that there are more morons because of the MSM. Their credo still is "if it bleeds, it leads". But they have added, "if the Left screams, it must lead".

Thanks, Pandora! But I still feel it means nothing. I'll bet these children didn't pretend to hang themselves. They were despondent and the parents either didn't see the signs, or shrugged them off as a phase.
I went to the first story. Sad. But what is the point. Kids were imitating Superman when I was a kid. They jumped off the roof and were either injured or killed. Do you remember Evel Knevel? Does that mean that we should ban news and entertainment because children might imitate something. Just say "NO"!!!
That thread was something else. My point on it was this ...Yes children will play games. Mine tried to play superman and jump off the roof into the inground pool. Thank God they had the sense to realize they needed the pool to land in and thank God they told me what they were going to do.....These children that are hanging themselves in my opinion in the Muslim countries are imitating what their culture is teaching them...martyrdom. From small toddlers they are taught to be martyrs for the sake of their religion. Its sick, its disgusting and its dangerous.... I don't know how we deal with this religion of peace and their brainwashing of children to die for Allah..... I think if I were a child in an Islamic county I would be despondent too but they don't even know what that is...its just so sad. Plus these fanatic Muslims don't look at death as we do. They enjoy killing.

It's a real phenomenon when we're treated to a commercial where a father is trying to bond with his son by getting a full back tattoo and attending the Burning Man festival. Caucasian teenage males looking like idiots by acting black, MTV switching from rock to materialistic gangsterism, overall parental discipline reaching an all-time low, having just one child per couple and the growing trend of putting socialistic Political Correctness over the Rule Of Law are signs that the traditional American Protestant culture is twitching at the end of its own rope.
If a culture adopts self-extinguishing trends for the sake of lies and fallacies it may not deserve to go on.
Another poster on another thread just gave me the best answer about this....It is the will of Allah!! That these children hung themselves because they saw Saddam's hanging.
I agree with you completely in principle. The Muslims aren't the religion of peace, anymore than the so-called peace people here are. There are peaceful people in both camps, but the manner in which the majority acts demonstrates their true nature. I believe that in order for them to act differently they must espouse Golda Meier's philosophy that 'they must love life more than death'. This, of course, would mean a major reformation. That is a bitter pill to swallow, and I don't know if the Muslims would stand up to their leaders.
I think they are afraid to stand up to their leaders or religious imams or whatever they call them. Look how long they have lived under the Islamic rule and Sharia law. I truly don't think they can adapt to another way of life and that saddens me. I feel for the children the most because to bring about change I would think you could start with the children...but not when you have parents telling their 9 year old sons to go be a soldier to support the family. Or to be a martyr and make sure we have a place with Allah.... Some of these young men are terrified to be suicide bombers but do it so they don't bring shame on their families.....I truly worry about all of this. ~~Pandora~~
The "will of Allah" is a great answer...for a Muslim! It is something you would never hear from any other religion.
The husband of a friend of mine is working in Egypt. She said that if the Egyptian workers don't show up to work for whatever reason they use the "will of Allah" line. Wonder if that would work with our employers? Can you imagine...

And the praying five times a day....A local mosque lists the first two prayers at 7:45am and 9:30am. How much can one get done between these times?! And we wonder why they aren't productive?

Mosques should not be allowed to move into commercial/residential neighborhoods.
