(vanity) I'm a "24" neophyte. Help!

I have never watched the TV show "24" before, but I plan to finally get on board this season.

What do I need to know before I start?

Am I going to be hopelessly lost when I watch tonight?

I don't get what you're saying.

Are you suggesting those of us who don't watch "24" aren't aware of terrorism?

Jack's always right, always has been right, and always will be right. Nevertheless, his superiors don't believe him.

i suppose last night showed us the proper way to kick a terrorist from a train.

oh, here's another... if you are going to break into someone's home, whom you believe to be a terrorist, and your intent is to beat said suspected terrorist to a pulp (if not out and out kill him), you may want to plan ahead and be prepared to return fire in the event your suspicions are correct and the terrorist pulls a gun on you. just a thought.

That about says it all.

Rent the DVDs...start from Season 1...get hooked...watch them again and again.

I started at the beginnin of season 4.

As long as you start at the beginning of a season, you'll be fine. Sure you'll be wondering "who is that" at first but you'll be fine.

What is everyone's fascination with Chloe? I'm assuming she's usually more interesting than she was last night.

She once Tasered a guy who was hitting on her in a bar. My kind of girl!

24 is one of the best shows on television. It features Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, treating terrorists as we would like them to be treated: namely, he hurts them very badly.

She was very geeky at first but her character has developed a lot. She's been a tremendous help to Jack. Computer genius, loyal to Jack, helping him out behind everyone's backs, things like that. She can be counted on. A lot of people hated her character st first but most of those same people now see her as a huge asset to the show.

If you think she seemed weird last night you should have seen her when she first got there. LOL. Interesting character. Mary Lynn is great!

Chloe didn't do much tonight except frown, pout and scowl.

And every time Chloe scowls, you take a drink!

24's lesson #20,293 in how to fight terrorism.

When working for the government in a super secret high tech command center, remember to frown and grimace. A lot. Next, walk around a aimlessly for a few minutes, pause and look about inquisitively as if you were pondering your next move. Amble cautiously over to your computer and tap away at your keyboard (people will think you are working on something extremely important- and you are!). As suspicious looking as you can muster, dart your eyes quickly to the left, then to the right. Center your eyes on your monitor and do something that looks techie in nature but is really just a simple macro. Next, occasionally walk over to someone elses workstation- be warned they may be doing the same thing as you, so be prepared to whisper intently so as not to get the Director's attention. Do this for 24 hours. Repeat annually. : P

You have to hang in there. With every frown, pout, and scowl, she gets one step closer to going Chlo-evil on someobody's ass.

Soon as she capped her first terrorist, she stopped being a complete & total geek & instead became the dream girl for a lot of the guys who watch the show.

Okay, so she's not just a desk jockey. Good. I thought that might get dull.

I'm looking forward to Hours 3 & 4 tonight.

She's generally a desk jockey, but has occasionally gone out on missions.

I'm also looking forward to hours 3 & 4 tonight. I've been hooked since the first season & it's been kinda fun watching the audience grow.
