The debate over which team really deserved to make the trip to Arizona to face Ohio State in the Tostitos BCS Championship Game may rage on through the entirety of bowl season, but there is no debating that either the Florida Gators or Ohio State Buckeyes will walk off the field on the night of Jan. 8 as national champions.
The Buckeyes raced through the regular season undefeated, pairing high-octane offense with stifling defense en route to a 12-0 record. Florida stumbled once, losing to Auburn in October, but a six-game winning streak to close the season that included wins against Georgia, Florida State and Arkansas propelled them to No. 2 in the final BCS rankings.
So which team will take college football's biggest prize? Could Tim Tebow be Urban Meyer's secret weapon or merely a dangerous distraction for the Florida coach? Sound off on the big game, SportsNation!

I just heard on TV that Congress is taking Monday off so they can watch the game. Our tax dollars at work!
OSU by 14+ points. This game will be in the bag by halftime.
I think it will be OSU by 14. However, I'll be pleased if I am wrong.
SEC fan here :)
The SEC is a great football conference, and from top to bottom is the best. I just don't think the SEC was great at the top this year. The Big 10 had the opposite problem. Three great teams, one good team, two average teams and 5 below average teams. I don't think the SEC had any below average teams.
Boise State.
I don't think the National Championship will be close....either OSU or the Gators will run away with the game. Whoever strikes first will keep on kicking the hell out of the other one...
I don't know, Vanderbilt was only really blown out by Tennesee. They played Michigan tough for three quarters until losing by 20. Other than that, they were in all their games and even manhandled a couple of there non-conference opponents. They were better than an Indiana or Illinois, which are truely below average teams. Vandy is solidly in the middle of the pack on the scheme of Div I football.
OSU had a 14 point lead on Michigan at halftime, and won by 3.
Don't forget Michigan State. They were far superior to Indiana and Illinois.
Indiana was up and down, mostly associated with their head coach's health problems. When he wasn't in the hospital, they were often surprisingly good.
I kind of hope you're right cuz I can only watch until about halftime. I'd hate to wake up in the morning and find out I slept through a classic championship game.
I'd normally pick an SEC team over a Big 10 team in a big game like this, but Florida doesn't inspire a lot of confidence and Ohio State under Tressel and behind Troy Smith just seems to be a lot better than the rest of that conference. I'm going with the Buckeyes on this one.
You were right, the game was in the bag by halftime, and coincidently OSU scored 14 points.
I guess it all depends on what 'by' means. Florida played a great game and kept the pressure on Troy Smith all night.
Never believe the "Talking Heads" in sports, politics or anything else. "Talking Heads" are all a bunch of gas bags, playing to our emotions to pick our pockets. On a lighter note, Florida proved to be a class act team, and Troy Smith's post game interview showed him to be a person of equally high class.
I am a Florida State fan and don't often hand out complements to the Gators or to the SEC. However, I respect class acts, and Urban Meyer has brought class to Florida football. Billy Donovan, the Florida basketball coach is an equally class person. It is no wonder that Florida is the National Champion in both sports. Sigh, I wish the FSU Administrators would demand the same level of class in Tallahassee.
