The Official Friday Silliness Thread Salutes the 1970's (All Skate)

Dig it: The 1970's are calling...pick up the phone and groove on the memories. When was the last time the Democrats ran the House and the Senate? When was the last time the Conservatives wondered what became of the GOP? When was the last time people craved an "energy policy"? When was the last time the word TAXATION was used in the same sentence as inevitable? When was the last time people considered Ford and Carter as Presidents? When was the last time Iran seriously threatened the USA? When was the last time AM radio ruled the airwaves? When was the last time music was as purposely bad as today? Dynamite! You remember the last time was the 1970s.

Trip out and go back in time to AM radio, a pick in your afro, corn rows platform shoes, bell bottoms, silk shirts, short shorts, large neck chains, mood rings, disco music, rollerskating mania, teen idols, Farrah Fawsett, the Brady Bunch, the misery index, high inflation, price controls, SALT, Annie Hall, and invention of the personal computer. Come join the fun--

All Skate.

What about the raping of "The Partridge Family" music to promote bad television!!! (and music) :)

They've got similar signs surrounding the Betty Ford Center over at Eisenhower Medical Center...I'll often park right outside (it's heavily hedged with wire fence behind) when taking the old parents to one of their doctors.

I guess the Elizabeth Taylors of the world don't want to get Paparrazi'd while wandering around in their housecoats.

But how'd they get a picture of the sign?

Hey!! The sceond album I ever bought was the Partridge Family Album.

It didn't last long.

Other favorite bands from the 70's were better:

Three Dog Night (1st album bought)
Steppenwolf (3rd album bought)
Grand Funk Railroad
Alice Cooper
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Deep Purple
Uriah Heep

just to name a few

Coach said, "That doesn't make sense. If your mother was a prostitute and your Father a drug dealer, what would that make you?"
The boy replied, "A Bengals fan."

Coffee, meet sinuses.

A Rabbit Diesel!

I knew a guy who had one of those. He said it wasn't fast enough to get out of it's own way.

I remember reading a Consumer Reports article about the Rabbit diesel back in '79 or '80. Right off the showroom floor, they clocked its 0-60 time at 19.6 seconds.
