Federal officials say it was probably just some weird weather phenomenon, but a group of United Airlines employees swear they saw a mysterious, saucer-shaped craft hovering over O'Hare Airport in November. The workers, some of them pilots, said the object didn't have lights and hovered over an airport terminal before shooting up through the clouds, according to a report in Monday's Chicago Tribune.
The Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged that a United supervisor had called the control tower at O'Hare, asking if anyone had spotted a spinning disc-shaped object. But the controllers didn't see anything, and a preliminary check of radar found nothing out of the ordinary, FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said. "Our theory on this is that it was a weather phenomenon," Cory said. "That night was a perfect atmospheric condition in terms of low (cloud) ceiling and a lot of airport lights. When the lights shine up into the clouds, sometimes you can see funny things."
The FAA is not investigating, Cory said. United spokeswoman Megan McCarthy said company officials don't recall discussing any such incident from November 7. At least one O'Hare controller, union official Craig Burzych, was amused by it all. "To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable," he said.

I don't like when they start insulting witnesses. Like you said, especially certain professionals.
I actually know one of the people that witnessed it and they are unsure of what they saw and think the government is being a little too quick in what they say.

I think they saw the spaceship disguised as a football stadium on our lakefront and were scared off.
Well, ya know, you can't expect a bunch of guys who stare at flying things all day to tell swamp gas when they see it...
There oughta be a citizens committee that can flat out summarily fire the idiot from the FAA who would even come up with this one in his sleep.

UFOs are real. I know because I ran into a little pink fairy spreading fairy dust on a group of people and all those people within days (or is it daze) were all seeing UFOs. I swear this is true.

Interesting, and about what I'd expect. If you've never seen anything unidentified like this before, it can be quite an emotional experience, reducing one's ability to logically comprehend what is exactly taking place.

If it's true they have no radar data indicating anything abnormal, and this supposed picture that exists on UFO sites is still being hidden from analysis or doesn't actually even exist, what else is there to do? Polygraphs? What would that proove? Your own contact is "unsure" of what they saw, correct? Others may "feel sure", but still be mistaken.
That would seem logical, however case studies seem to indicate pilots etc typically jump to incorrect conclusions under the assumption anything appearing to be flying must be physically designed for flight.

WHAT? THE WEIRD WEATHER IS DUE TO UFOS???
The absence of radar data doesn't really say much anymore. I've been reading about some of the experiments they are doing in defense labs with light bending to produce invisibility.
Our obsolete stealth technology reduces the radar cross section of a bomber to that of a seagull.
Radar works at airfields for what we want it to do, which is track heavy passenger aircraft.
It's funny, because in places like Russia, Mexico, Norway, China, and Japan, there isn't even a debate about the existence of UFO's. Plenty about what they might be, but zero about the fact they exist.
The FAA. That's an agency with credibility.
