Boise State wins 2007 Fiesta Bowl in OT against Big 12 Champs, Oklahoma.
Amazing 4th and 18 touchdown from the fifty with a flea flicker with 7 seconds left. Amazing 4th down touchdown in OT followed by another amazing 2 point conversion to win against a very resilant and strong OU team which came back from 18 points down and took the lead with a minute and 6 minutes left in regulation.
One of the most exciting and amazing College football games I have seen, next to the Miracle Bowl when BYU beat SMU 41 to 40 by scoring three touchdowns in the last three minuts 25 years ago.
How 'bout them Broncos!
Great game! lots of reversals of fortune and redemption at the end.
She was as surprised as the Oklahoma defense was on the 4th and 18 hook and ladder.
Maybe they will get enough money from the bowl game to paint that damn astroturf up there. And it really shouldn't have been an upset considering their ranking. Its not like they got to get ranked that high because of their uniform colors or the fear factor of blue turf.
It was a fantastic game. I'm really happy for Boise... a great, great town. One of my favorites (hey, and I live in Vegas!)
Great year for the Broncos...If you haven't ever been on the campus there (right on the river), it's gorgeous and right in the middle of that great town I mentioned before.
I'm not a college sports fan, but I watched that game because there was nothing else on. That was maybe the best football game I've ever seen! Great drama, and you're right, that flea flicker was devastating, almost as if it was meant to be. A bigtime team was whipped by a no-name team with superior heart.
I was rooting for them in today's game.
The Bowl Season live thread on FR went wild over this game. Congrats, Boise State. You showed HEART and demonstrated what college football is all about.
BTTT
OU, my team, my alma mater, just isn't as good as BSU. I would've never thought it, but it's undeniable. Coach Stoops is a very good coach, and he was out-coached. Our D coordinator is very good, and he didn't have enough answers. When we intercepted the last drive and scored, I was 99.9% sure it was over. Then the hook and lateral play. Awesome execution. The statue of liberty-like thing for two was the first I've ever seen. Just brilliant coaching.
GIVE ME A !@#$ING PLAYOFF SYSTEM!!!!!!
My husband went to bed. He'll be sorry. :)
That's a brand new field and it will always be blue.
Yes BSU was ranked...but still, anytime a WAC team gets a shot at one of the really parennial college football powerhouses, it's a big thing out here. And that was a GREAT game, no matter how it gets diced.
All I can say is WOW and YAY!
That was the biggest game in BSU history...no doubt about it. And they did themselves proud on national TV. But BSU does have a rich football tradition out here in the west stretching back to the 1940s.
Coach and team had the strength of character to put it all on the line after the second OT score; we win it here and now, or lose. True grit, and some good play calling and execution!
Yes she was...and I think the announcer was kind of joking when he said it, but Ian took it from there...like the two point conversion! Hoo-Hah!
I'm a lifelong BSU fan and I ... am speechless.
Man what a roller coaster ride that game was!
That game is an instant classic. I bet we'll see it time and again over the course of the next year on ESPN Classic. I don't mind watching that game a few more times.
BTW, since you are from the area, do you think this game will be available locally/online on DVD?
Dang straight!
