It's the wonderful New FR! It was just pointed out recently that those of us from the old days (this is a newer ID for me--I was reading FR back in the black-background days!) are fuddy-duddies for believing some decorum is appropriate. Times change, you know.

It's called black humor. It's what people do when things are too horrible to cope with normally and one is sick of the platitudes about how awful, terrible, sad, tragic, etc. something is. Relieves the stress. You should hear paramedics sometime.
