I must have missed those jokes. I did read the following from various national columnists this morning:
From Stewart Mandel at Sports Illustrated: David didn't just beat Goliath on Monday -- he humiliated him. He so thoroughly outclassed the only team to be ranked No. 1 during the 2006 regular season that it leaves us wondering whether the past four months were really just one big lie.
From the AP: NOT-SO-BIG TEN The Big Ten finished 2-5 in bowl games, with blowout losses in both of its BCS contests. The Michigan team that so many felt deserved a rematch with Ohio State for the national title was drubbed by Southern California, 32-18 in the Rose Bowl. The Big Ten's only bowl victors were Wisconsin, 17-14 over Arkansas in the Capital One Bowl, and Penn State, 20-10 over Tennessee in the Outback Bowl. The SEC, led by Florida, went 6-3.
From ESPN: Turns out Florida was too good to be on the same field as Ohio State, and that Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith and the Buckeyes were the ones who weren't worthy.
From ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski quoting Jim Walden, fomer Washington State coach and the only person to have voted Florida #1 in the final regular season polls: ... there was no comparison between Florida's SEC schedule and Ohio State's Big Ten opponents. "Ohio State and Michigan were the two best teams in a really bad league. Florida was the best team in a really good league."

Delta
That's just wrong!

Did I mention I have conveniently become a Boise State fan? The only true, undefeated # 1 in the nation........
Ohio State does have an abysmal record against the SEC, and alas continued that way. They are so bad in that regard they almost make up for the excellent record Michigan has against the SEC.
Heh heh heh......
I must admit, it was hard to root for them...........and it didn't take long (one quarter to be exact) to switch allegiance to Boise State.......
:-)
Ah, I was wondering when the Blunda from the Tundra was going to show up for his dose of abuse...
Sorry but I checked the rules and playing on a blue football field disqualifies that team from being rated #1.
It is appropriate, however, that you chose a team with the initials, "BS."
Michigan ... michigan ... hmmm ... isn't that the team which, after losing to the OSU* team that was destroyed by lowly SEC champ Florida, proclaimed itself worthy of a national championship game? Whatever happened to them anyway?
John Heisman please call your office ...
*Obviously Substandard Unit ... but still the best in the notsobig 10.
A lawyer dies and goes to Heaven. "There must be some mistake," the lawyer argues. "Im too young to die. Im only fifty five."
"Fifty five?" says Saint Peter. "No, according to our calculations, youre eighty two."
"Hows you get that?" the lawyer asks.
Answers St. Peter: "We added up your time sheets."
This year's term: Political Correctness.
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
Like a drum.......
Now what was that Arkansas USC score again?
Boise State rocks.....the true, the one and only, undefeated # 1 team!
So your delusions persist. Gosh, it seems like was only yesterday when you were predicting Florida's humiliation at the hands of Ohio State. Oh well, I suppose that Ohio State and Michigan falling from their obviously inflated #1 and #2 rankings after being soundly thrashed by poor little Florida and USC would tend to rattle the brain of one such as yourself so carelessly bound to those "big" 10 frauds in mindless adoration of the incompetent.
OSU 14 --Florida 41; Michigan 18 -- USC 32; LSU 41 -- Notre Dame 14.*
*LSU--Notre Dame score shown to illustrate that Notre Dame, the team the "big" 10 likes to point to as one of its powerhouse opponents, is just another overhyped team, often beating its "big" 10 patsies but unable to compete when facing a real football team.
And now, having grown weary of seeing you wallow in denial, I shall retire until football season once again gives you the opportunity to lose. See you then.
:-)
Is that like the Pleistocene era?
Oh tundra dweller:
The Holocene is the name given to the last ~10000 years of the Earth's history -- the time since the end of the last major glacial epoch, or "ice age".
