On Tuesday, former president Gerald R. Ford, Jr. died at the age of 93. He led a full life beginning on July 14, 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska.
The future president was a star athlete and the captain of the Grand Rapids South High School football team. He was offered contracts with the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers but declined so that he could attend Yale Law School. Shortly after his graduation, an outside event changed his plans. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Gerald Ford enlisted in the Navy.
Shortly after returning from the war, Ford decided to run for a seat in the House of Representatives. His 24-year tenure included his rise to the House Minority Leader. After Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned, President Nixon chose Ford to beceome the new vice president. When Nixon himself later resigned, Gerald Ford became the first (and only) person to ever rise to the presidency without ever being elected as president or vice president.
His presidency was notable for not only his pardon of Nixon but, according to many, his restoration of trust in the presidency. President Ford worked hard to ensure that his tenure in the office was open and honest. Later in life, Gerald and Betty Ford moved to their Rancho Mirage home in California. It was there that President Bush visited the couple in April of this year.
On December 26, 2006, Gerald Ford died at his home in Rancho Mirage. Ford will have services in Washington, DC and will be buried at his Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Have you told Brooke about your penchant for snakes?! In some of the Wild on E! segments, she'd handle various critters. I don't specifically remember her handling ball pythons, but I wouldn't be surprised if she had. She's undoubtedly an attractive lady regardless, but I've wondered if part of why I have been attracted to her so strongly is that she seems game for that kind of stuff.

Happy New Year to you as well. I hope all is going well for you. I believe you mentioned in a previous post that you are visiting Florida. If so, congratulations on being somewhere warm.
Elvis is a California Kingsnake. The kingsnakes and milk snakes are very closely related. All of them are members of Lampropeltis genus, so your first assumption was good.

...Trying to think of something positive to say...ummmmm...you DO have clean fingernails, Bill... LOL Many people feel that way. I started getting them in October '05. I've always been interested in snakes, but I've never been in a good position to own any. I also felt that finding the right lady would be hard enough anyway and that finding a lady who was all that I wanted plus willing to tolerate snakes would be too much to ask. When I reached the point of realizing that I'm not going to find her, I decided it was time to do something nice for myself.

actually, no, i'm not...
Hercules is a S/390 emulator.
Sheepshaver emulates the PowerPC G4 processor (minus MMU), and thus enables one to run Mac OS 7.5.x through 9.0.4 so long as one possesses a legal Mac ROM image.
Simh emulates a bunch of historical systems such as the PDP-11.
Qemu by default is a complete PC emulator (simulating a PC with a 800MHz Pentium II) and can run anything between DOS 3.3 and Windows XP, plus various forms of Linux, BSD, and even OS/2. (XP and later would probably use VMware's free VMware Server). Though I can also emulate Alpha, SPARC, Linux/PowerPC & RISC, ARM, etc.
and finally, I'm running openSuSE 10.2 as my flagship OS.
