Merry Christmas to all of the folders among the ranks of Free Republic!
We have reached #57 on the list of teams worldwide, 3 FReepers are in the Top 1,000 of all folders and we are stomping the bejebers out of the DUmmies and Daily Kos.
A year ago we were just beginning to expand. Now we have about 170 regular contributors with nearly 1,050 computers using F@H as their screensaver.
Folding@Home makes a real difference in basic research into such diseases as Alheimer's, Parkinson's and BSE.
All it takes is a little free time to download the core, which runs in the background. Safe, clean and effective!
What is the name of your project?
Often, the estimated completion time is not accurate for the first few days. I suspect that the completion date is incorrect and will become more accurate as time passes.
You can look here for information on points and scheduled deadlines:

You can look here for scientific information on any project:

Lastly, look in your F@H folder and open the "unitinfo.txt" file. That is a summary of the work unit that you are currently working on.
My current unitinfo.txt looks like this:

Well, Phoenix Rising won the race to 10.5 MM points. Maybe they will go back to WCG and leave us to assault the top teams.
I can't believe that I am outproducing Klutz. Hasn't happened in a year. Bet that it won't happen for long.
Klutz, back to work! Do I need to come out and help you get all those labs converted?
As simple as the answer is, the implementation is tough. Real tough. We get more folders every time a new thread is started, but there is a limit to how many times we can post new threads without wearing out our welcome here. I'm not sure I have a solution on how to recruit more FReepers. Anyone?
Reading further on the XS boards, many announced today they were bailing on FAH, and going back to WCG.
Time will tell if many, some, or none stay with FAH.
My curent unitinfo is;

Name: p2125_lambda_5way_melt_4_10011
Download time: December 22 16:27:11
Due time: April 10 16:27:11
Progress: 79% [|||||||___]
Clearly it will be done before April.
Thanks too for the link to the stats page about all of the projects. Very interesting. I currently have three processors working although they are not all fast.
That's why we are here!
We get lots of points from slower computers. I only have a few fast systems cranked up to 100%. Almost all of mine are running at 75%, with others running at 50%.
A P3 550 MHz system at 50% will complete work units but it can take a while.
There was an error accessing/using the database. Description: error opening wwwrun@vspdb1.stanford.edu:stats Please send this error message and the conditions under which it was caused to the F@H researchers. Thank you.
We aplogize for this inconvenience (and more information can be found at this forum thread and in the F@H News section).
It looks like the stats server is back up.
44,000 points on the 9:00 pm update.
Thanks. They still have yet to credit me with a second p2124 and a p993. I guess they will eventually....
I am going to upgrade to a dual processor CPU soon, see how it goes. Might upgrade video card in 2-6 months, I heard the fancy ATI ones are fantastic for folding.
Hey every one, we are over here now!
