...With a record of 2-11, the silver-and-Honolulu blue are firmly entrenched at No. 32 on any power poll in this spiral arm of the galaxy. Entrenched, that is, until another loss drops them behind Ohio State, Florida and the Hamburg Sea Devils. Think it can't get worse? Hey, this is the Lions. NFL schedule makers saw fit to arrange the endgame Kitty Cats' so, so long season likewise: at the Green Bay Packers where the Lions haven't won since a guy named Brett Favre took over there (that's right, 1992); against the Chicago Bears in a game which figures to see Motor City backers immortalize the chant "Fire *&#!!%&ing Millen!"; and at the Dallas Cowboys , who on New Year's Eve will probably looking to bag the No. 2 seed in the NFC... Kevin Jones, who was knocked out of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, figures to be out for the remainder of the season... Pro Bowl nominee Shaun Rogers... was slapped by the commissioner after testing positive for steroids. The judgment had Rogers forcibly sitting out four games and giving up $250,000. Naturally, "Big Baby" was innocent, protesting that the positive test represented a product that the 354-pound Rogers used to help him control his weight. Or he has asthma. Or he thought they were Shawne Merriman's Pez. Or something... Team officials announced yesterday that WR Mike Williams - you remember him: the former first-round draft pick cum The Most Useless Player in the NFL Today - flunked a weigh-in. At 240 pounds, Williams only missed the target set by Rod Marinelli and Co. by 20. Though no punitive measures have been mentioned, any punishment would seem pointless other then some quality time on the bench... Fire &#!!%&ing Millen.

As for this year, this silly 'committment to the run' crap is killing them. You don't have a tandem like Roy WIlliams and CJ and not use them. That whole run first crap is what killed them against Atlanta. The WRs were up against two of the shortest CBs in the league. And Roy and CJ are two of the tallest WRs. But no. Stick to the run. Those CBs should have been exploited over, and over, and over again. And when the WRs got double/triple coverage, run the damn ball. It's almost as if the fix is in -- when Ross was coach, in fact, the last time they played in the playoffs, he still had Barry Sanders, and yet tried to rely on the pass. It's also maddening when the get into the red zone and, instead of having some one-trick ponies, big behemoths who can bust a hole for a quick run for TD, they're always chuckin' stupid short passes. If the jokers can't get open with the whole field ahead of them, they sure can't get there with the length of the end zone.

Well, we now know it isn’t the quarterback.
Most of the Lions teammembers will be at the Super Bowl. They’ll be working concessions.
I’m pretty sure that getting rid of Marinelli isn’t a good idea. But that’s the next thing to be tried. I mean, replacing the head coach about once a year has *really worked* for the Lions during the 21st century.
QB Drew Henson was cut, now he’s been resigned to the Lions’ practice squad:

Here’s a semi-serious call to move the Lions to Los Angeles:

Looking at the remaining schedule, I see no way for the Lions to screw up the #1 draft pick — unless they traded it for some doubtless great pick from yesteryear.
The Lions should have never fired Monte Clark.
Heck, I say bring back “Cocaine” Wayne.
Nice 0-16 prediction. You should’ve put money on that.
rowr!
Fire Millen EVERYONE...including the fans that are stupid enough to buy tickets
The team will be sold to L.A., and will win a super bowl within 3 years...
The Detroit Lions...Fords revenge against organized labor...and unfortunately any other Michigan sports fan.
> I don’t expect them to win any games this season — by that I mean, I don’t expect them to win even ONE game — and I’m not going to waste two or three hours every Sunday better spent on FR. ;’)
Hey, that was back in September, not bad! Thanks for reminding me.
Ford wrecked the once-great Lions, and despite the occasional glimmer of hope, such as when Barry Sanders was playing, and they made the playoffs more often than not, he really shouldn’t own the team. Since Obama said we will be eschewing an ownership society, pretty soon now the Lions will belong to the people. Hooray for us. /sarc
Knock, knock...
Who’s there?
Owen.
Owen who?
0 and 12.
