The Dixie Chicks cleaned up this morning with Grammy nominations. They received the big three: Best Album, Song and Record for Taking the Long Way and the single, Not Ready to Make Nice.
They got two more, for performance in the country category, and their producer, Rick Rubin, was also nominated. Not bad, considering the flack they took in the three years leading up to the albums release
Somethine tells me not to hold my breath waiting for them to withdraw their names from "country" categories. Hypcrits with absolutely no integrity!
I'll be the first to say, they will win...No doubt, the fix is in.
Yep.
but of course! as early as 11/30 articles were published to shape the opinion that chicks deserve the win based on the politics alone because thats what is important and that a win for them would be a referendum on the Bush administration and would give liberals a chance to granstand.
For more pleaureable movies, go to EBAY and get some of the classics of former years. Why buy the NEW when the old is better?
Its actually sad that Mary J Blige has to take a back seat to the chicks (even though she scored the most nominations) because she didnt exploit a manufactured contrversy. She did what most artists do, put out an album and let it be judged on ite merits alone. But the MSM isnt shilling for her, she hasnt paid enough of her Bush Bashing dues yet. Very sad day for music fans indeed.
Who didn't see this coming?
The Grammys are run by liberals where they honor drug addicts and other assorted low-lifes. Let's see how the Chicks do in the Country Music Awards.
Grammys lost their relevency years ago. Hell, Gwen Stefani was nominated 5 times last year and her album was garbage. Thats g-a-r-b-a-g-e for you Gwen fans! ;)
They were snubbed. They were also snubbed for the AMERICAN music awards.
For me, the Grammys lost their relevancy in 1978 when A Taste of Honey won best new artist instead of Elvis Costello.
They should just go on and change their names to the PHONEYS...its more accurate. Chalk this up as yet another low ratings year for the grammys. LOL
Idn't Natalie the little fat one?
There is nothing little about her. Short ans stalky, yes! Little, no.
Ironically, the Dixie Chicks music has become more mainstream and conservative while their fan base has not.
Can you please post a working link to the story. Thanks.
1989 Grammy for Hard Rock:
Nominees:
AC/DC - Blow Up Your Video
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Metallica - And Justice For All...
Iggy Pop - Gold Metal
and the winner was...
Jethro Tull - Crest of a Knave
The Grammies are stupid and irrelevant.
That's the book definition of liberal.
Two words: Milli Vanilli. LOL~
