Just saw your note about the coffee. Sorry I missed it. I'd taken Clare and Joseph with me up to the Church to take down the Advent wreaths and put up the Christmas Wreaths on all the doors. Then we went down to the basement of the school, affectionately known as the 'bomb shelter', to get the 10' tree and carry it up to the Church, so I wouldn't have to do it in the rain in the morning. We started taking all the old light strands off the tree because I'd bought some new, commercial lights, to put on it. Then Clare looked at the base of it and realized that it was bent. There was no way that tree was going to be able to stand straight up in that stand this year. Apparently, whoever took it down last year wasn't real careful with it.

So when we got home, I started fixing supper, then while it was in the oven, I called one of the ladies in charge of the decorating committee to deliver the bad news, then started calling around town to find a new tree. Fortunately, Michaels Art and Crafts had a 9' pre-lit tree on sale, so I went out after supper to get that, then did the rest of my grocery shopping. The only thing I'll need before Christmas is another gallon of milk!

So I'll spend tomorrow morning at the Church decorating, then come home, wrap gifts, and make some candy for the kids and for gifts for the Priests and the Parish secretary. Paul gets in tomorrow night. It's gonna be a busy day!
