The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

On the eggnog:

I broke the egg into a measuring cup and filled to the 1/4 cup mark with the fat free half and half. 1 package of Splenda a few drops of vanilla, and four shakes of nutmeg. Pretty good, but not as strong an eggnog taste as store-bought. It would probably be better if I used a whipping cream, but if I did that, I might as well just get store-bought eggnog.

Great. Now I'm out of bourbon.

Any of the local optical walk-in type places you could particularly recommend? And are most open evenings?

Thinking of going one day this week.

Well...how is it once the bourbon has been added? ;-)

I broke down and got some of the real stuff.

Techie Help Wanted!

I have a Nokia cell phone, a TracFone, which I like; but I have been given a Motorola camera phone formerly of the Verizon family, and would like to make it my "new" TracFone, perhaps by moving the SIM chip or something...

TracFone Customer Assistance is more along the lines of account status and adding talk time etc., and doesn't seem to be interested in futzing with the equipment.

So...do any of you know

is it possible,

is it difficult,

or what?

Also, anyone freepmails me an e-mail, I've got an mp3 of JRRT reading the "What's Taters" bit from TTT.

Pretty good! ~hic~

Actually, it's pretty good. I'll go to the grocery store (low on Fancy Feast) tomorrow and see if I can find some eggnog flavoring.

So far as I know, there's no way to switch between services. My brother asked about that at one point and was told it'd be easier just to sell the phone and get a new one. And TracFone in particular uses their own technology, I belive.

But you might Google newsgroups or sumpin and see what people say.

Bet DaVinci or one of those other syrup companies makes an eggnog flavored syrup.

I ended up going to the Sears Optical over in Lacy... the guy seemed competent. Don't know what their hours are, though.

(grump)

So a Tracfone Nokia works different from a Verizon Nokia, and likewise the Motorolas?

(grump)

OK.

I'm making curry. Talon says my curry is infamous. I am not sure that's a compliment.

Some recipes I've found online require eggnog flavoring so it's out there somewhere.

Looks like King Arthur Flour carries it...so I'm guessing if nothing else, gourmet type food stores would have some.

You Are a Tree
You love every part of the holidays, down to the candy canes and stockings. And you're goofy enough to put a Christmas tree ornament on your tree!
