The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I want to write, and it's not even November.

I don't read sci-fi, but I love to read, so I'm glad there are people out there who are ~driven~ to write.

It's a good feeling. I haven't had it in a while, the urge to shape a story under my hands... it's like some people love gardening or knitting, I like writing.

One of my relatives married a Cherokee girl that was that was the daughter of the preacher at the Indian church. She saw him and purportedly said to her friend "That's my man if I never git him!"

Apparently he rode his horse right into the church and carried her off!

I believe the likelihood of me being related to you is greater than with anyone else in the Hole...

Yeah, me too. My s-i-l lives near you. In fact they used to live just a few blocks over from y'all before they built their house out in a rural area somewhere outside of town. She was out just after the storm a couple of weeks ago, slipped and broke her wrist. She said it hurt like the dickens!

My older siblings say my Daddy was part Cherokee. I'd always thought it was Chickasaw, but I guess not. My sister lived in OK for a while, and went to the Museum of the Five Nations, but didn't find any information about our family. I told her it was likely that our ancestors peeled off the Trail of Tears and snuck into N. Mississippi. After having done that, their decendants surely weren't going to sign up on anyone's register! They didn't WANT to be found!

I never knew my Daddy's people, with the exception of his just older sister, Heppie. Most of my cousins on his side were older, since he was the baby of the family, and they just weren't the 'get together' types, like my Mama's big family!

Honestly, I just followed the instructions! Ebay will walk you right through it. It's not hard and although some folks go for real fancy stuff, I prefer to post and buy from relatively simple formats since I'm on dialup.

So just follow the directions, post a couple of pictures and be thorough in your description...that's all I can advise. (Oh, and look through ebay for similar items and see what they're selling for...)

Good luck with it! Ebay is a lot of fun, I think. 300wm may have some other tips....

Well, I'm not enjoying it much either.

Basically, I'm trying to write one that will find either
or
.
