Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
"The Long Kiss Goodnight" is where I'd seen Geena Davis before.
Incidentally, that's a fun movie...
Yah... I know what you mean. I lost my United "Premier Executive" status after I stopped flying every other week. The thing I miss the most is the seating preference. Always got good seats.
Now that I'm not flying so much, I just don't rack up the miles. But I'm OK with it. Mostly.
I've never even joined the Red Carpet Club. When I found out it was still non-smoking in there too... it just didn't seem to offer anything useful. Dunno.
I haven't checked the south side of the house, and we still have a lot of snow covering the rest of the flower beds but I've probably got 'em coming up too. For being 48 degrees, that is one cold south wind we've got.
I tried chopping the ice off the driveway, but it is still too frozen to move. Get to go in tomorrow for the second half of my root canal retreatment (oh, joy)
Gypsy did get TWO walks today, so she is a happy puppy. LSA
Flight's delayed. Neato. Time for another beer...
[sip]
My leaf mulch is partially blown away. I might have more coming up under the stuff that's still there.
Root canal....eeewwww!!!
I'm updating the ipod with new music for the trip tomorrow... some Christmas music and a great band called Pink Martini. I can't imagine flying without the dumb thing now.
It's the root canal RETREATMENT that hurts, a root canal is a breeze. So I get to go to a root canal specialist and also go back to Dr. Z for a new (read, second) permanent cap. It's better than OB who has had several retreatments after his old root canals have abcessed (now, from what he says, abcessing teeth really hurt!) LSA
LOL... I don't even have an iPod yet. My never-travel-without item is my little DVD player and my Bose headphones. Even for a little flight like this one from SEA to SFO, I plug in a movie, slip on the headphones, and the flight goes by in no time at all.
For longer flights it *definitely* saved my sanity.
I can sleep on planes, but I usually don't.
You mean Dr. Z doesn't have that lake house paid for yet?
Well, good luck with the retreatment.
OK... time to pick a movie for this flight...
I think: Team America
I dunno, I'm just in that sort of mood.
Uh, you're not planning on eating this popcorn, are you?
Yeah, yeah, just keep telling yourself that the whole time, and you'll be just fine!
Team America, good choice. We've been kind of hooked on The Big Lebowski lately... like the other Coen bros. movies, it just really grows on you.
"Shut up, Donny!"
You want a toe? I can get you a toe...
Long Kiss Goodnight is one of my favorite movies. Samuel L. Jackson is just hilarious. " I be honking Miss Daisy".
Hey - watching the Polar Sea on TV...
It's a History Channel show on Sub-Zero Tech.
Are those worth the investment? I've had my eye on them for a while.
Is that the one we watched together with the chick and the amnesia hitman thingie and the little girl?
