The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Yeeow. And you didn't even kill anyone, that we know of.

All I need is a good book, some water, mebbe trail mix, and a place to sit and I'm a pretty happy camper. But being the contrarian that I am, I took great pleasure in being good natured and polite to all the airport employees (except for the lady with the carribean accent, I might as well have been deaf for all I understood her saying). It's like saying Merry Christmas to people - they look all stunned and confused. So that's good fun. :)

Got to bash some heads in my mtg today. Things took a strange turn when I was called "tactful". I asked him if he was being sarcastic, he said no. So there's that, I suppose.

Thank goodness for books!

Yup. The paperback: a portable entertainment wonder.

LOL!! I love those summaries! Speaking of evil mastermind for now, did you notice who's behind the Muslim terrorists? Same old, same old. In fact the guy also played a bad dude Russian in the movie The Saint.

Know what sucks? Coming home fifteen minutes early because of a headache and finding a steaming pile in the dogs' cage. Ungh.

So did you make it to FL? Good idea getting a book! I'd read a review of the movie in the NYT, and they said they liked the book better.

Found a copy of "Visions of Sugar Plums" at the library yesterday. It's a 'Stephanie Plum Christmas novel'. I'll start on it after I finish the novel I'm reading about Henry I and Eleanor of Aquitane.

It might require another book.

It's a heck of a compliment, actually, because I do not consider myself in the least bit tactful. I'm too much of an introverted geek to have highly refined social skills. Basically, my mgmt sent me to this meeting to be blunt and instead I'm "tactful". No telling what my mgmt will say about that. *sigh*

That's darn good considering that's a glass room!! Our house is holding steady about 69.8 degrees, except for a brief period this morning when the sun was shining and it got up to 70.4. I could turn the heat up a bit, but I've got sweaters.

I'm fixing a couple of baked potatoes, could go stick my hands in the oven for a minute....

So... I guess I haven't been paying proper attention. Do I gather correctly that the maybe-father count for Anna Nicole's baby is now up to ~five~ (5) (five and no/100ths)???

Why do I keep getting this feeling that there's a new reality show buried in here somewhere? [Whooose yerDaddy?] A judge with a sense of humor would grant joint fatherhood to all the men, with the provision that they all have to live in the same house and televise it in order to get the money. Then we can vote them out of the house. Heh. Well, there's been worse ideas...

...and why, of all the people involved are they worried about getting a DNA sample from Anna...? Seems we know who the ~mother~ is, don't we?

Gadzooks.

I wanted you to know that we found a home for that beagle pup. I called 7 of the neighbors, the vet and the shelter...nobody knew who she belonged to. I put an ad in an email to our homeschool group and got the call a few hours before we were to take her to the shelter. It's kinda funny because we were supposed to take her to the shelter on Monday, but my truck wouldn't start (had to charge the battery), so we had to wait until Tuesday to make the trip to town. Thegirl prayed that if God was keeping us from taking her in, that He would find her a home. I'm glad she's got a home, now we don't have to worry about her.

Off to church!

I feel like I've spent too much time on the ANS thread when I can answer the question why are they worried about getting a DNA sample from Anna...?

And the reason is, to make sure they don't switch the baby!! Seriously.

Whooose yerDaddy?

I think Jerry Springer already did that. Everything about Anna makes me just shake my head. She is truly pitiable and not in a good way.
