Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Dr. Balus I think, she's the young one I know, and she's pretty.
There is a retired vet from that clinic across the road, down the long driveway by our mailboxes. He rides a bike a lot. He talked to me once when I was lunging Bay. I forget his name but it's not Balus. I think that's her married name.
Yep, that's her dad - she mentioned the driveway and that he rides his bike a lot.
Off to *town* since I couldn't do it with the cat in tow. Hopefully it isn't horribly crowded at Fred Meyer...I need a few non-grocery things. Send in a search party if need be...
I think I can even get those keys done there. Haven't done that yet...
If you're not home by dark we'll come looking ;~)
You can do keys at Ace too.
*thud*
Big family tradition 'round here. One batch makes a 9x9 square cake pan...*full*. Weighs about five pounds to ship. I don't bother to cut it. I just put a square of wax paper over the top, slip the whole thing in a gallon zip-loc (with festive decorations, of course) and ship.
Five pounds.
Five pounds of fudge.
*thud*
I went to the local cake and candy crafts store the other day and got some dark chocolate for making the kids some candy for Christmas. I can't even eat Hershey's chocolate anymore, even the Special Dark stuff, because it just tastes waxy compared to the homemade stuff. If you can't find the candy melting wafers locally, I know you can get them online, because I was looking for the sugar free version once, and found a place that sells all of it; the candy, the molds, the rice krispy stuff you can put in the chocolate, the peppermint crunchies, all of it! I found some new peppermint crunch stuff the other day. It is white, and has the consistency of the inside of malted milk balls. The older version was red and green, and is festive looking, especially in the melted white candy, but that stuff was too hard on the teeth! Maybe the company that makes the white stuff will bring out a red/green version next year!
oh boy. I gained a pound just thinking about it...
Mmmm. Those dried cherries are just scrumptious. They are VEY good, and in the white candy melts, quite festive looking, as well.
Yeah...that's what I think I'll do. I chickened out on Fred Meyer. The parking lot was scary enough.
So I went to Starbucks and the grocery store instead.
You wanna come over for movies later?
I think the smaller size jar of fluff I got makes two and a half pounds. Still a lot!
I got white chocolate chips and peppermint extract. May not be any good, but I figured I'd try something a little different. If I get ambitious (and can get to the post office when they're actually *open*), I'll ship. Otherwise, I can give it to Ben and Anne. ;-)
Sure! I have to run out one more time in a little bit here...should be back by three thirty or four, depending on if I stop to do the keys.
OK - We'll be here, except when we're briefly not here, have to run to the feed store at some point.
The weather's being confusing. Sun, rain, sun, rain, rain with sun, sun with rain.
That's normal :~) If you don't like the weather wait 15 minutes...
Car washed....check!
Kitty spoiled...check!
My poor kitty just had his eyes dyed and poked and pulled. No spoiling. May have to work on that.
It's really good! Just got back from Costco with a few lbs. of Jarlsberg Swiss and some pepper jack. If I don't get it smoked tonight I'll have to wait for another week or so until another cold blast gets here.
Errands runned - check

Since the naybers have decided to out "Griswald" the rest of the block, we did the single illuminated candle in each window and one wreath on front of house. We still have the 'thousand white mini-light' Christmas Tree visible in the front window. LSA decorated the mantle and the bannister's going upstairs with holly and mini-lights.
And the laundry.
Put some lights on the Ficus:
