The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Exactly. The character is the leader of his clan ... how cool would it be if he wore his predecessors embedded along his eyebrow line and down his nose?

Well they certainly 'adorn' their bodies, though in ways different than most. ;o)

Too bad today's weather isn't normal. We could get used to it.

Got this in my email...

Arkansas Disaster Relief Volunteer Involved in Fatal Car Accident

Roger Glenn Loyd, 47, of Osceola, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 3 after an automobile accident near Ravenden. He was a volunteer jail chaplain and a member of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention disaster relief team. He was traveling home after responding to the ice storm in Missouri.  Please pray for the other men in the unit—one is in critical condition and the other walked away unharmed—as well as for their families.

At any rate, Texans are frequently colorful characters. ;-) Should be a fun night.

Over in a few minutes...

Gonna be one of those days I guess. Jen got rear-ended on the way to work. She is fine though. Just some cracks to the rear bumper of her car.

I'm glad she's okay!

Did she get the info from the perpetrator? Does Iowa have a mandatory liability insurance law?

It was so cold and neither of us had a pen so we exchanged phone numbers. Just got done getting the info from the gal. Gonna have to remember to put a pen in the car now.

My poor bumper... this is my second bumper already, the same sort of thing happened to me a month after I got my car. Snowy day, I stopped, the gal behind me didn't, and I got a new bumper. It's all one big piece of plastic and it cracked...

Too bad the trunk wasn't damaged or I could get the light that was broken this summer fixed too!

They make some kind of accident kit that you can carry in your glove box...it's got everything you need including a camera!

I keep meaning to get one.

I'm glad it wasn't worse!

Me too! But it was very low speed. There's a light on the bridge over the highway, where a lot of people turn left to get on the on ramp, and with the sun glaring off the snow it was very slow and backed up. The light was still green but the intersection was blocked up so I just stopped, I was only going 3 miles an hour anyway, and the gal behind me didn't.

Only us two involved, her fault, minor damage, no big deal. I'll probably have to have my car in the shop for a day or two tops.
