Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Ookay...I get it. As much as I'm likely to. ;-)
Back from the coffee shop and from grocery shopping. Lunch time!
LOL! I'll have to show those to Joseph. He watches ATHF sometimes. I find it a little crude for my tastes. He mostly chats about it with other folks on the WoW forum.
-3... windchill a lot colder. Had to run to the hardware store for more 2x4s and plywood. Talon is framing in a bar along one side of our basement room and I am mudding the walls. Made a lot of progress last night and today.
We're fixing to head over to Paul's to help him with various and sundry home working tasks. SirKit is gonna help him hang up the pot rack in his kitchen, and they're going to check out some of the electric stuff. I'm going to do some touch up painting, and re-paint an area that water had dripped onto from the condo above when something happened with the heating unit.
S-M-R-T! You growed your own baby-sitter!
heh, right, you had a buddy that tried that once, some years back. :-)
Good show on getting the lane cleaned up. Having good help is a wonderful thing.
Well, seven years old, we've been here, let's see. He was just a sprout back then. Wish him a Happy Birthday from us here in the ice strewn mid-west.
50-car pile-up in a major artery, malls and theaters closed, and I haven't even thought about leaving my apartment.
Gore said this couldn't happen. The drowning polar bears could take refuge here. I'll trade 'em spaces; apparently the arctic is frickin' balmy.
grr.
We're at 17 here but at least it's sunny. Thesunroom warmed up to 64.
I await the results with some consternation...
We had a little dusting. The most we've gotten all winter is 0.75 in. But this is not because of Al Gore. It is because Big'ol_Freeper bought a snow blower.
Too cold for snow here. Keeping warm by working in the basement alternating with reading. I'm working on a Cordwainer Smith collection Baen just republished. It's very odd, fantastical-feeling science fiction.
All the walls and a significant portion of the basement ceiling have recieved their first coat of mud and I'm taking a well earned break.
good day fer an indoor project...
mmmmmmmmmmmmm... bar.... cain't wait tuh see it...
got the rest of thelane done with theboy... with the exception of a couple tangled piles and one hugh branch, there's nothin' within' 15' of thelane... I'll get thetractor out and use theblade tuh push the tangles and branch out'n the way...
